I've used Hotmail for years and am fairly happy with it. I am considering going over to gMail but I just thought the basic lack of a preview is seriously off putting. gMail looks worse than Hotmail before the Live stage (when Hotmail was still Hotmail). It just looks like paper. Nothing cool about it. All features and no style makes gMail a dull mail service.
Yahoo's UI looks really good. Not sure whether it's better than Hotmail but they both looks great and easy to use. And the storage space is sufficient for most people on both I would say. Why does anyone need more than 1G? But in Hotmail I've got 2GB and using 1% of that. The lack of pop3 in Hotmail is disappointing and also currently MS Live is really slow but that could just be due to them (still) being in Beta. But one thing that really stops me moving to anything is MSN Messenger. Everyone I know is using MSN Messenger and asking them to use gMail or something else just isn't going to happen. Another thing is that I've had my Hotmail account for something close to 10 years. I've grown attached to it and can't see myself not going into Hotmail the first thing in the morning any more. |

AcePlayer, if you look around you can find large amounts of greasemonkey scripts that create all these features in gmail like preview, tagging, etc.

If I can get it looks just the others with little difficulty then I would certainly vote gMail. Until then I'm withholding my vote. |

Greasemonkey is a FF extension that alter webpages on the fly as they render. It can be used to add features to web services. |
