lunux
Cedarview equipped machines with GMA 3600 do not boot, the problem could be the graphic integrated , the idea is to develop a new MAC driver for the these new atom netbook. Anyone able to work on it ? cause unfortunately I am not. Please help. I have been looking into that Meego repo further and I have found the packages that contain the binary PowerVR (Atom GPU) xorg drivers: http://repo.meego.com/MeeGo/updates/...ia32/packages/ There are no docs inside the packages but from the filenames and the brief package descriptions I seem to understand that 3D OpenGL support and possibly even hardware video decoding is implemented in the drivers. Here are the descriptions included in the packages: psb-video-cdv-0.12-1.1.i586.rpm User space driver for video decode on cdv pvr-bin-cdv-1.7.788837_05-1.1.i586.rpm Binary graphics driver and libraries from PowerVR pvr-bin-cdv-devel-1.7.788837_05-1.1.i586.rpm Development package for pvr driver A flash plugin with hardware acceleration is available here: http://registrationcenter-download.i...Linux_beta.rpm
lunux
Is there any hope ???? see this e-mail please. thank you for your help Zhenyu Wang | Re: linux driver support GVA3650 ? You can find current rpm from http://download.meeg...edarTrail/i586/ which contains X driver, GLES implement and required libraries. The xserver version it supports is 1.9. And there's another version for tizen to support xserver 1.11. Kernel part is GPL source code, you can grab from http://build.meego.c...ect=devel%3Acdv Note that it's for 32bit system only so far. -- _______________________________________________ Intel-gfx mailing list Intel-gfx <at> lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/intel-
lunux
The Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 3600 or GMA 3600 is an integrated processor graphics card (e.g. in the Atom N2600) without dedicated memory. Paphlagon
I would like to know if anyone has had any luck as well. Just bought a couple Gateway LT4010u Netbook PCs with Intel Atom N2600 and Intel GMA 3600 graphics. These have 64MB of dedicated memory in contrast to what Lunux mentions above. At present they are available for $228 from Gateway, Walmart and few other places. Would be nice if I could convert these little bad boys. Also: What does non-starter mean in this case? Is their no interest, or is there a particular component which precludes this unit from eventually having OS X on it?
Paphlagon
Bump: I'm sure there are quite a few new Cedarview machines out there since Christmas has come and gone. Anyone have any ideas?
rafirafi
You have to sold theses machines and buy something else.

With your graphics, OSX would be a P.I.T.A. to install and will never get acceleration (the famous QE/CI), but if you want to try anyway, use Mountain Lion, since your CPU is 64-bit and should support it. Follow this guide [Guide] The all-in-one guide to Vanilla OS X Mountain Lion + Chameleon + DSDT for beginners. with this extra step: download newest chameleon package from www.kexts.com, install the package making sure that, under customization, you check the kernel patcher module so it boots on your Atom CPU. Post results here, so we can effectively help you. Best regards!
lunux
Thanks The Connacticat, I shall try but unfortunately my atom CPU is not enabled emt64t so no hope, I am trying to patch my bios to unlock it thanks
Chanzellor
Has anybody been looking into this topic? Does anybody even care about those of us with The Cedarview equipment? I mean, if we have access to the Linux PowerVR drivers, there has to be some way to port. o.o If I had even the slightest clue where to begin, hell I'd start from scratch, I just don't have the capability myself. DMMA
I never got chameleon working with my Atom n2600 (except chameleon 2 NBI from NetbookBootmaker, which does not work with Mountain Lion) I got Clover (r644 and below) working with kexts cache disabled, but i could never pass "DSMOS has arrived" message (even with -x and no graphic kexts) Does anyone ever saw someone running any OSX on Atom n2600/n2800?
