ego321 Posted April 5, 2012 Share Posted April 5, 2012 Congratulations to all owners of MS-7250 (K9N Ultra). Your motherboard is 100% compatible (LAN/Audio/Sata-DVD) with Mac OSX 10.6.8. But only if the HDD and DVD-Drive be attached via Sata. I will now show you how to do it: My configuration Motherboard: MS-7250 (K9N Ultra) CPU: AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 3800+ 2.00 GHz RAM: 2x 1 GB DDR2 800 MHz Graphic: Nvidia Geforce 7600 GT 256 MB (128 BIT) HDD: Sata II-Samsung 160 GB Drive: Sata II-Sony Optiarc DVD burner What you need: Officially purchased Snow Leopard Disc (here: http://store.apple.c...roduct/MC573Z/A) 10.6.8 Combo Update (here: http://support.apple...iewlocale=en_US)) The latest bios version (here: http://us.msi.com/pr...html#/?div=BIOS) OSX86 MOD CD by nawcom (http://www.osx86.net..._osx_modcd.html) some Kexts/Tools (Attach File) Step by Step:1. Make sure you had the latest bios version installed. Start your Computer and hit ENTF. Now change the settings as follows: 2. Put the OSX86 MOD CD into your Drive. 3. Click „Save Changes and Exit“ 4. After a time you must see this screen! 5. Now eject the OSX86 MOD CD and put in your officially purchased Snow Leopard Disc. Wait a minute and hit F5. 6. Now go to Mac OSX Install DVD and hit ENTER. 7. After a short time you will be asked to hit any key. 8. You can see the OSX Installation Setup and had to choose your Language. Let’s do this! 9. After that go to Utilities ==> Disk Utility. Do the same as in this video from 2:30 to 3:27. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5e4-1EeM9q4 10. Now we go on with the Setup to the point where we must choose the HDD. Click „Customize“ and set the check-boxes like this and click Install: 11. The installation takes more than 20 Minutes... It restarts automaticly. (It is normal: You see the apple logo and it stops loading!) 12. Put again the OSX86 MOD CD into your Drive and unplug the power plug. 13. Now turn your computer on and you can see the screen of step 4 again. Choose your HDD and hit ENTER. 14. After short time you can configure your OSX Installation. Just go through the setup. 15. When this is completed and you can see the Desktop, copy the Kext-Tools Folder and the 10.6.8 Combo Update (what you have previously downloaded) to your Desktop. 16. Open the Combo Update and install it. If you get "Installation failed", change the date to a date that was before 31 March 2012! When the installation is finished:DON’T CLICK REBOOT!!! 17.Open Kext-Tools Folder and install legacy_kernel-10.8.0.v2.pkg and copy the Extensions Folder and the Extensions.mkext into the Extra Folder of your HDD. Eject your OSX86 MOD CD and only now click Reboot on the Combo Update Window! 18. Now your OSX 10.6.8 must boot without the OSX86 MOD CD! 19. Open Kext-Tools Folder and install now VoodooHDA-2.7.3.pkg and after this run Kext Utility.app. Reboot! 20. Now everything must run very fine! UPDATE: The Mac App Store will not work according to these instructions: Install Wired-LAN In the selection window! Skip step 17 and do this: Open Kext-Tools Folder and install legacy_kernel-10.8.0.v2.pkg. Eject your OSX86 MOD CD and only now click Reboot on the Combo Update Window! Do this after step 20: Go to control Panel and than to Network. Remove all Devices and add them again but make sure that the first device is your connection for internet Now also the Mac App Store must run verry fine... HAVE FUN!
