First off, let me start by saying this tutorial does NOT use a dsdt, but I've got everything working besides the card reader.

Requirements:

1 Atheros AR9285 half-mini wifi card (For working internal wifi)

1 External USB keyboard (Hardly used)

1 External USB mouse OR existing mac os x lion installation.

1 USB Flash Drive 8GB+

1 USB Flash Drive (Any Size)

1 CD-R/DVD-R/CD-RW/DVD-RW (Parted Magic)

1 DVD-R/DVD-RW (Mac OS X Distro) OR existing mac os x lion installation.

1 functional computer with internet access (Other than your lenovo)

1-2 hours of free time

Downloads you'll need:

http://partedmagic.c...hp?id=downloads (Parted Magic ISO)

http://dl.dropbox.co..._ByCamiloml.exe (BIOS Mod for Atheros card)

http://www.osx86.net...do=file&id=1299 (1299-AR9285_Lion.zip)

http://www.osx86.net...do=file&id=1448 (1448-TRACKPAD.SYNAPTIC-GESTURE.zip)

Nawcom's MBR patch pkg

Mac OS X 10.7.2 Combo Update DMG (Not telling you where to get this)

You'll also need a Mac OS X Distro ISO or an existing mac os x lion installation.

STEP 1 (Optional, for working wifi):

If you want working internal wifi, first thing you'll want to do is run the bios mod 45CN38WW_NWL_ByCamiloml.exe from your existing windows installation. If you removed your existing windows installation, you'll have to reinstall it for this. I'm not going to go into detail on how you would go about reinstalling windows, but if you can't do it.. I wouldn't recommend trying to install OS X.

After that's done, you'll want to install your wifi card. Unplug your charger and remove the battery. Unscrew the back panel on your Lenovo Z570, and pop it off. In the lower left hand corner should be the wifi card (When the battery slot is on top). Remove the antenna wires from the card and unscrew the small black screw holding it in. Pop out the card and put in the atheros ar9285 in its place. Replace the antenna wires on the new card (White goes on the right when the pins are on the bottom). Re-screw in the tiny black screw and replace the back plate. Re-screw in the back plate. Done. Replace the battery and plug it back into the charger.

STEP 2:

First of all, take the second usb flash drive and put your downloaded files onto it. You will need this later.

You're going to need to burn the Parted Magic ISO you downloaded to a cd/dvd. Using ImgBurn or another iso burning tool, burn the ISO file to the disk. You need this disk to make your harddrive boot into chimera/chameleon, as well as to resize your existing windows partition. It's best to have your existing windows partition defragmented before resizing it. During this step, you should also burn your Mac OS X distro iso to a dvd (If you don't have an existing lion installation). I used Niresh's mac os x 10.7.2 dvd.. but you can use any dvd you see fit. I will not tell you where to find this.

STEP 3:

You're going to boot from parted magic cd/dvd and select the default option. When it is done booting, go to the partition manager located on the desktop, and resize your ntfs windows partition. Then you'll want to format the unallocated space to fat32 or similiar (So mac diskutil can detect and erase it).

Now you need to either boot from the mac os x distro dvd or make the ##### usb thumb drive on an existing lion installation.

If you're using an existing lion installation to make the ##### usb drive:

http://tonymacx86.bl...lion-using.html - Don't forget to patch with Nawcom's MBR patch!

Otherwise, boot from mac os x distro cd.. and install mac os x lion. You may or may not need an external usb keyboard and mouse, depending on which iso you picked. To install, open diskutil and erase the fat32 partition and format it to a Mac OS X Journaled partition. Then proceed with installation. Make sure you get basic kexts in the customization area. (During installation, you may need to "wake up" the computer if installation seems to freeze halfway through.. just tap on the keyboard, and it will continue)

Now complete installation by booting from HDD and going through the post install menu.

Finally, make your ##### usb. http://tonymacx86.bl...lion-using.html - Don't forget to patch with Nawcom's MBR patch!

STEP 4:

Boot from the ##### usb drive and select usb. Go to diskutil in the tools menu and erase the fat32/macosx partition and format it to Mac OS X Journaled. Proceed with installation, selecting the erased partition to install to. When it's done, you should reboot. This time, choose to boot from the HDD. It'll ask for a keyboard, so plug in your usb keyboard and then unplug it. You don't need it, laptop keyboard works just fine. Proceed with post installation menu. When you're done, start using lion. Plug in the second usb flash drive and get all of your downloaded files off of it. Open and run the Mac OS X 10.7.2 Combo update. While it is running, extract and open up #####. Select the following options:

* Drivers and bootloaders -> Disk -> 3rdParty eSATA

* Drivers and bootloaders -> Miscellaneous -> ElliotForceLegacyRTC

* Drivers and bootloaders -> Miscellaneous -> EvOreboot

* Drivers and bootloaders -> Miscellaneous -> FakeSMC

* Drivers and bootloaders -> Miscellaneous -> FakeSMC Plugins -> Motherboard Plugins

* Drivers and bootloaders -> Miscellaneous -> IOUSBFamily Rollback

* Drivers and bootloaders -> Miscellaneous -> NullCPUPowerManagement

* Drivers and bootloaders -> Miscellaneous -> USB 3.0 - NEC..

* Drivers and bootloaders -> Miscellaneous -> PS/2 Keyboard/Mice (Will be replaced in a sec)

* Drivers and bootloaders -> Miscellaneous -> AppleRTC Patch for CMOS

* Drivers and bootloaders -> Bootloaders -> Chimera v1.7.0 r1394

* Customization -> Themes -> Chameleon RC5 Default

* OSx86 Software

Wait for the Combo Update to finish before proceeding. DO NOT RESTART! Leave the Combo Update window open, and click continue on the ##### installer. Wait for it to finish. Open ShowAllFiles from Applications and click Show. Open up the ##### usb drive in finder. Go to Extras folder. Drag the Extensions folder from Extras and place inside your HDD's Extra folder. Now, extract the AR9285 Lion.zip, the TRACKPAD.SYNAPTIC-GESTURE.zip, the VoodooBattery Lion.zip, and the LenovoZ570 zip. Copy the kext files from all of them to /System/Library/Extensions/, type in your password, replace. Put the prefpane for trackpad in /Library/PreferencePanes/ Run KextUtil in Applications, type in your password, wait for it to complete. You can now restart using the Combo Update installation window that should still be open. Boot from HDD again using the ##### usb.

Everything should work now except for audio. Proceed to Step 5.

STEP 5:

Now we are going to install the audio driver. We are using VoodooHDA 2.7.3 with VoodooLauncher to avoid random KP's on boot.

Download VoodooHDA 2.7.3 and VoodooHDA prefpane from

http://www.mediafire...7l25i5f87i8cjk2

Extract and place the prefpane in /System/Library/PreferencePanes/

Download VoodooHDA Launcher from

http://code.google.c.../downloads/list

As well as the VoodooHDA Launcher Patcher

Install VoodooLauncher, then patch it with the VoodooPatcher and the VoodooHDA 2.7.3 kext.

Go to System Preferences (Apple in top left) then to Users + Groups -> Login Items

Remove the voodoolauncher default startup item with the minus. Add a new login item with the plus and add the voodolauncher application directly (if you want) then click the box to hide it.

Lastly, remove AppleHDA.kext (back it up if you want) from /System/Library/Extensions/

STEP 6:

We still need to get the hard drive to boot. To do this, visit the Chameleon website or the VoodooProjects forum and download Chameleon-2.0-RC4-r684-bin.tar.gz

Extract and get the boot1h file. Place this on your downloads flash drive.

Boot from Parted Magic.

Run parted -l from terminal and find your mac os x partition. (HFS+)

Mine was /dev/sda partition 2, so mine is /dev/sda2 Yours might be different. (Remember this)

Insert your usb drive with boot1h. Open file manager and find it on the left hand menu. It should be /media/sdb or similiar

cd to whatever path it is in terminal (for example "cd /media/sdb")

Then run ls and make sure you see the boot1h file.

Lastly, run this command replacing /dev/sda2 with your mac os x partition path. (You got it from above)

dd if=boot1h of=/dev/sda2 bs=4096

Reboot.

You should be able to boot from the hard drive now into both windows 7 and an almost 100% compatible mac os x lion installation. Enjoy.
