High Precision Event Timer http://www.intel.com/hardwaredesign/hpetspec.htm
In regards to OSX, I remember Maxxuss saying that starting 10.4.5, Intel Mac kernel started to use it exclusively, and not many people had HPET in their system. Hmmm...you know what I'm thinking? I should enable HPET and try to run one of newer kernel w/o any kernel patches and see how far it goes. |

I have tried these settings and my USB survives a sleep now. Weird. Settings you would think would HELP, don't. Not sure which exactly makes it work, but it appears to work, so I'm not going to mess with it. :-). Thanks for the tips (& sharing!) 10.4.6 JaS, updated to JaS 10.4.7, DVI using GMA 950, 10/100 NIC, 4 GB memory. -Dan |

I haven't rebooted for 2 days now. |

I upgraded my BIOS to 1.2 and sleep still works (bonus: improved my xbench a little).

You must, PLEASE and then report back. I want at least 3 confirmation. Oh, I forgot about that (I have no need for that yet). Probably not, haven't tested...O.k., make that 98.999 % compatible. Nevertheless, I'm still very happy Few things about sleep: 1. If you make display and system sleep at exactly same time, only display sleep takes effect. 2. If you are playing QT video for like 2 1/2 hours, sleep function is disabled during that time (nice feature). i'm a bit late, but i had no choice, really... Well i tried with bios 1.20 and all the settings like yours but it doesnt work... i have an apple usb keyboard. i'm using Jas 10.4.7 and my system is overclocked to 320mhz fsb. |

One last thing, there is a jumper setting that allow for USB devices to wake the system up. You have to set that right. I will check my manual. Be right back. |

Or thats not completely true :
- When it just turn off display but continue to run, if i move the mouse or hit any key of the usb keyboard, it turns on normally. I noticed also that when i tried to make it sleep, it doesent really sleep : fans continue to run, HDD too, it just turn off display but there, i cant awake it. i'm also thinking about making a topic for the few little things that makes our hackintosh system based on a conroe945G-DVI "unperfect" : - Wake / Sleep statement - Sound in - Usb & Firewire 100% Compatible cards What d'you think about it? |

We have 3 people who got it working properly. So I know you can get it work properly. Just matter of time. I have had sleep/wake working with 10.4.4, 4.6, and now with 4.8. i'm running 10.4.8 too... i think a good step is to know first, why my machine doesen't sleep completely (fans and Hdd still running) and then we can go further.
My machine was sleeping correctly under bios 1.00 and this problem appears for me by going thru the 1.20 update. |

QUOTE My machine was sleeping correctly under bios 1.00 and this problem appears for me by going thru the 1.20 update. I think mine started to work correctly with 1.1 (I have 1.2). I don't think it worked under 1.0 (too far back to remember). sleep works well on my config Great, 4th confirmation QUOTE but...when i want to restart after wake-it's shutingdown the system. Yes. It happens on mine, too. I wasn't sure what to make of it (i.e., sleep and waking up puts processor in funky mode or sleeping puts OSX into a mode that does shutdown instead of restart). Lets narrow it down. What processor do you have? Mine is Pentium D 805. |

HPET does not load on my Hackintoh (JAS 10.4.6 and 10.4.7). I get an error (yellow message with -v switch) stating that can not load HPET class. Any idea?
I am having ACER laptop with Centrino duo T2300 @ 1.66. Please help, if you know something about it, since I do not find anything about it. greetings |
