Installation

Boot the HackBoot CD

MaLd0n_2011_02_23_a__s_23.35.47.png

Remove the CD, insert Snow Leopard DVD, wait a few seconds and press F5, then select the DVD and press Enter.

After booting the DVD and selecting your language, wait for the "Install Mac OS X" screen. Go to menu "Utilities --> Disk Utility”, select the HD you want to format and click the "Partition" tab. In the "Volume Scheme" combo, choose how many partitions you want. Below, in "Options", choose "GUID", then select "Mac Os Extended (Journaled)", click the apply button and wait.

With this process done, close Disk Utility.

Select the destination HD and go on with the installation.

After the installation, boot using HackBoot again.

The system is running but it needs HackBoot to start, so we have to install the boot loader (Chameleon), the essential kexts and the patched DSDT.

If you have problems with "still waiting for root device" even using AHCI, enter BIOS setup, go to "Integrated Peripherals" and disable the option "SATA Port0-3 Native Mode"

Post installation

1- Copy the Extra folder to your boot partition or use installer

2- Install Chameleon RC5 (in Snow Leopard or EFI partition)

3- Run DSDT Auto-Patcher and copy the generated DSDT to the Extra folder

4- Update the system to 10.6.7

Restart using -v (boot verbose)

Vanilla power management (SpeedStep) and Restart fix Use Chameleon RC5

In some motherboards the audio codec may change from one revision to another, so you can use this to apply the correct patch to your revision.

I followed this guide word for word but I failed.

1 - I installed osx

2 - I installed Chameleon 2.0 rc5 r748

3 - I copied the folder where I installed the HD extra os

4 - I downloaded the auto patcher dsdt, performed the procedure, copy the file created in the extra

5 - I upgraded the system to version 10.6.7

6 - off the pc, the boot I added the "-v" but I got a panic. now with me but I do not have computer code related to the processor more precisely HPET.

near future will show you the exact error when it stops.

Hello MaLdOn

I'm now also using the Gigabyte P55A-UD3 with the i7 870 with 8GB of 1600 ram.

It's not overclocked but the memory is set to profile1.

I used DSDT autopatcher to patch the DSDT but am using Chimera as a bootloader.

I'm only getting a Geekbench reading of around 10890 on SL and 10790 on Lion, compared to your reading of 13013.

Any ideas?

Cheers

Generate P and C States

I do not use the memory overclocking

always have problems with this

The ram I have is rated at 1600 but will only show up at that speed when I use profile1 in the bios.

Are you overclocking the CPU but keeping your ram running at 1333?

I haven't tried that yet.
