Strange. But can you give me some precision :

At which time do you have kernel panic?

Which version of snow do you use?

Original or DVD copied?

Do you have the xps m1210?

Dude, thank you SO SO much...I'm still working on this but so far everything works except my wifi...it's not detected in Network in sysprefs...only the onboard Broadcomm and the ExpressCard Sonnet GigE are detected (and firewire).

Erm...so yeah, I have the 3945ABG...I guess it's not going to work... *oh well*

I'm ordering a broadcomm card right now :) Thanks again.

after update my laptop to 10.6.8 my wireless card not work.

wireless card Model is : bcm94311mcg

i need help .

I installed the UpdateCombo10.6.8 successfully!

Install official UpdateCombo10.6.8 or update online, then reboot.

Replace kext AppleSMBusPCI.kext in /System/Library/Extensions/ (with Kext Utility) with that of version 10.6.7 or mine in attached file.

Replace FakeSMC.kext in /Extra with the version 2.5 with Kext Utility in attached file.

Reboot and enjoy !!!

And for those which as me have a wifi Broadcom which completely slows down the system and which poses problem:

Open terminal and copy/save these two files :

cp -r /System/Library/SystemConfiguration/Apple80211Monitor.bundle /Users/username/Documents/
cp -r /System/Library/Extensions/AppleSMBusPCI.kext /Users/username/Documents/

Then install official UpdateCombo10.6.8 or update online, then reboot.

Replace kext AppleSMBusPCI.kext in /System/Library/Extensions/ (with Kext Utility) with that of version 10.6.7 or mine in attached file.

Then open terminal :

sudo -s
mv /System/Library/SystemConfiguration/Apple80211Monitor.bundle /System/Library/SystemConfiguration/Apple80211Monitor.bundle.bak

Copy old Apple80211Monitor.bundle in /System/Library/SystemConfiguration/

cp -r /Users/username/Documents/Apple80211Monitor.bundle /System/Library/SystemConfiguration/

Copy com.apple.Boot.plist and smbios.plist in /Extra (attached file)

Replace FakeSMC.kext in /Extra with the version 2.5 with Kext Utility in attached file.
