ToBeMac
Hi guys, Am having an issue getting my 10.6.3 hackintosh to sleep properly, as whenever i put it to sleep, my PC shutsdown as if it’s hibernating in windows then backs on right away, if i try to put it in sleep one more time, the same happens again but the monitor stays off no matter what i do and i had to just hard restart the machine.. I have a GA-EP35-DS3L, E8400 and a standard design Sapphire 4890 card. I got a patched DSDT. Have the following Kexts installed: AppleACPIPS2Nub ApplePS2Controller CPUInjector EVOenabler fakesmc LegacyHDA OpenHaltRestart sleepenabler I tried with and without overclocking. Tried with and without the sleepenabler.kext. Tried to play around abit with various bios settings. It’s actually always the same. Any tips/hints is really appreciated. Thanks. ToBeMac
Ok, my issue is solved now, by luck for the most part I checked "Console" under applications > Utilities for any clues, i tried to put the Mac to sleep, and as usual it waked up right away, checked the console and found this: System sleep Wake reason = USB5 System wake Checked my USB ports in the system profiler, and right away i suspected my Twinhan satellite infra remote receiver which is connected through USB and identified properly in system profiler too, plugged it out and sleep worked as it should!! So if anyone else is having the same issue, take alook at the console for any hints or clues. Goodluck.
oldnapalm
If you want to leave the device connected to USB5, try removing _PWR from it in DSDT. It works in my laptop which wake was caused by HDEF and EHC1. http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=216382
