jduffy
So far with my Snow Leopard install on a Gigabtye EP45-UD3P has been very solid except for one annoying problem and that's screensaver starting up even when set to never in system preferences. Any thoughts as to how I can stop this? I tried deleting the screensaver plist and rebooting but no luck, still set to never and it still keeps popping up. Love to find a way to kill the screensaver. gnulp
Open System-Preferences and set up the screensaver-panel like you want. Open your Home-Folder and go to Lbrary/Preferences/byHost and search for the latest "com.apple.screensaver.A-LOT-OF-NUMBERS.plist". Rename the plist by deleting the numbers. It should look like this: com.apple.screensaver.plist Copy the "com.apple.screensaver.plist" up to Home/Library/Preferences Good Luck

jduffy
Sweet dude, I did what you said and it totally worked. Thanks for a great fix. Wish I'd thought of that myself! Hope this helps others out with Hackintoshes who might be having the same problem.
Werewolf08
Excellent! I have been going nuts for the past couple of months trying to figure out what the hell is causing my Screen Saver to go off! Just renamed the plist. Will see how it works. Thanks!
