Hi All,

Currently I have a HP MINI 5101 with a Broadcom 43224ag card. It is not showing up in 10.6.1

but with Apple's beta 10.6.2 there is an inclusion of IO80211Family.kext which contains AppleAirPortBrcm43224.kext

you would think it's simple as install kext and voila!

But it didn't work, are we missing anything?

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi there,

Sadly ive been looking for an answer for months on this one ;) I have the same exact notebook and came to the conclusion that it may be easier to just replace the wireless card with one thats supported out of the box. I gave up and am stuck using 3G speeds (using my ATT USB Dongle ) when I boot osx on it.

If there are any GURU's out there, please lend us a hand :)

Sincerely,

Wayne

Are you using the 43224 card?

I don´t, but without IOPCIFamily.kext patched i got this error:

Update.

Checking in System Profiler the kext is loaded, but airport still does not show.

Ideas anyone?

For the BCM4311 card the kext needed is AppleAirPortBrcm4311.kext but the symptoms are the same.
