Yossarian
Happy Day! I sold off my Digi 001 and bought an Mbox 2 (a bit of a hardware downgrade, I know) so I could run the latest Pro Tools on UniBin. Happy Day!
sonyed
It is not a Universal Binary. This download works only for Intel machines. I've tried it yesterday...it works fine

Seeyou
Pro Tools 7.1.1 run JUST PERFECTLY on my Intel 945 Pentium D + MBox system, even with no QE/CI!!!!!! Was recording and editing for about 6 hours. No crash, no latency and very smooth operation. Any idea on where to find OSX RTAS plugins??????
Yossarian
Has anybody been working with a Quicktime movie in Pro Tools. For some reason movies that play fine outside of Pro Tools play like the codec is missing in Pro Tools sessions. Very annoying considering I only do sound for picture. Anybody had success with this? BiTRiP
ProTools 7.1.1 does work on my P4 PC and using a Mbox1. Unfortunally after a few moment I get a very LOUD pink noise and have to reset my mbox. So, protools works but can't really work with it... Anyone have the same problem or a solution? My config: Intel P4 3,4Ghz Asus P5GDC-deluxe mobo 1024 MB ram Mbox 1 MacOSX 10.4.6 (H0TiSO version)
Yossarian
Is Mbox 1 compatible with the new update. I'd double check that one. Also, could it be a feedback loop? Mike
BiTRiP
Is Mbox 1 compatible with the new update. I'd double check that one. Also, could it be a feedback loop? Mike Yes, regarding Digidesign's website it is compatible with the Mbox 1. It is not a feedback loop..I tested it without any source connected to the mbox, just by having 1 project open with 1 track of audio (44.1kHz, 16 bit) Its plays and suddenly it stops giving sound while it still plays. When I move the fader of that track (lower or higher) and get immediatly very loud pink noise. Just by changing ANYTHING in the PLAYBACK ENGINE (and back) it works again but for some seconds only. I just reinstalled OSX with the best patches and stuff, running SMOOTHLY....also PT runs fine except for the sound... :( Who has same problem or is it only me?!? BiTRiP PS: I just have flashed my mbox AGAIN with rev20 but no luck...
Another User
Some questions & tip. 1. Bittrip - The pink burst noise is usually related to hard-drive problem. drive different HD (external?) to record on to verify it's not hard-drive related. 2. Anyone did A/B comparsion from PTLE under XP and under OS X. I still haven't seen any true comparsion to see how much OS X coolness suck power (altough VESA based machines should have some decrease)
sonyed
I've no problem using PT on OSX 10.4.3 desktop. But I have many problem using CoreAudio Digidesign driver with apps other than Pt (Live and Reason). The audio is distorted and with CPU burst. Yossarian
Can someone try importing a quicktime movie into a session and see if it plays or not. The video on screen is all messed up. Since I only do sound for picture, I'm kind of effed until this works. I'm wondering if Pro Tools has another folder for codecs other than the one Quicktime uses, because the video plays fine outside of Pro Tools. Also, does anyone think it could be the Callisto driver for my ATI card? Mike
BiTRiP
Is there ANYONE who has a MBOX-1 and running protools without (major) problems on osx86 on a pc??
sonyed
I've a Digi002r, PT LE 7.1.1 running on Intel P4 2.4, 1GB RAM, without major problems. Only some graphics artifacts with some plug.in such as WaveArts. But I think it is due to my old graphic card (GeForce II MX) or Callisto driver. Matt V
I'm running pro tools 7.1.1 and live 5.2 on a new macbook (OSX 10.4.6) with an mbox1. I'm having issues with my coreaudio drivers, specifically with the audio inputs in Live. I get clipped pink noise constantly through the inputs. I tried my roomates mbox2 and it works just fine. I did notice that the macbook isn't officially supported yet by Digi (the macbook pro and macmini are). I've been in talks with Ableton Live support, but I think this is really an issue with Digidesign, not Ableton. So yes, as a mac intel user using an mbox1, I am having problems. Any ideas? If you are going to edit serious material in LE you really need Digi DV Toolkit... All the pros that have a laptop for home work or home studio (NON TDM) have it....it's a must, codecs, etc, OMF support (which is great).

No way to return to PT if you use it one time! Saluti I have Nuendo for the PC not mac, and its non UB, plus $10K plus in samples/instruments. Looking to learn logic a bit more - expect market share to go up in the next few years for Logic users as am seeing a trend for FCP editors. Expect that to grow as well. Also, does logic have the ability to record automation as in Nuendo? Like drum machines, etc....with the "R" "W" buttons? Still trying to find REASON UB DMG...if anyone knows please let me know. thanks
