davroglor
Hi all. Apologies in advance for these newbyish questions. Searching the forums hasn't elucidated this for me. I just installed iDeneb v1.3 (10.5.5) on my system, which has a Foxconn P35A motherboard. To my great surprise, virtually everything worked straightaway. I'll be adding it to the HCL in a bit. The one exception is that I can't see my PATA hard drives. My system contains three HDs - a SATA drive (with one partition containing OSX, and two partitions with Windows 7), and two PATA drives that are NTFS formatted. When I was installing OSX, I saw all three drives; but when I boot into OSX, I don't see the PATA drives. I see the main OSX drive and the two other partitions on the SATA drive, but there's no sign of the PATA drives. I'm guessing this has something to do with my IDE controller? If so, how do I (1) figure out what IDE controller I have on my Foxconn P35A board; and (2) get it working? (The auto-install hardware drivers in OSx86Tools didn't find anything pertinent.) Thanks in advance for any help!
Beerkex'd
Open OSX86Tools and click "view PCI Device/Vendor ID". It should list your PATA controller there. Then type Vendor and Device IDs into google to find out what make and model it is.
