parallels networking strangeness, can only access google sites, google downloads

parallels works great, but for one thing. i can only surf google and google related sites.

google cached sites work
was able to download picasa from google
can use google earth
google news brings up the headlines, but i can't go to the sites
(i have actually clicked on two sites that worked, and could traverse
inside their sites just fine.

all this is happening at good broadband speeds.

i can PING other sites successfully.

in the parallels forums, there was ONE other person with the problem,
but no answers for him. dated the april 14th.

any ideas?

Had the same problem fix it using drtcp in windows and manual config in linux. Basically you have to change your mtu to 1400. In drtcp just select the box for mtu and enter 1400, press ok and then restart your computer your network will work fine. There is a guide for debian on how to change in linux (the guide works for other distros too).
