Bassy Sweeeeet
Right, i have had my wireless working in 10.5.5, but as soon as i upgraded to 10.5.6 it just doesnt want to work anymore My wireless card is detected, but i cannot find any wireless networks. Even through the kismac technique! I choose Airport Extreme passive mode, and then click start and it prompts me to authenitcate it and i do, then it loads with a loading bar, then nothing happens? It doesnt show a stop button, and doesn't spin around showing all the numbers, where as it would normally happen when it was working. I dont know why it isn't working with 10.5.6 I have the Vanilla kernel installed. Oh, by the way i tried to install that Airport extreme update 08-004, and it said that it couldnt install because i didnt have 10.5.5 installed? so that might be a reason why it isnt working maybe?? I would like a developer to come along and visit this post, because i have logged into my windows partition, and extracted a whole load of information about my wireless card. Below is ALOT! of information about my wireless card, so i hope that you special developers can produce a driver for this wireless card because this has been a massive problem for a whole load of hackintosh people. This is a highly used wireless card, so if this wireless card can be supported with hackintosh, then there will be a lot more people using it. So please, please, develop a driver/kext for this wireless card! i am begging you! and so is many others Atheros AR5007EG Wireless Network Adapter PCI bus 5, device 0, function 0 *********** **Details** *********** Hardware Ids: PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_001C&SUBSYS_04281468&REV_01 PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_001C&SUBSYS_04281468 PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_001C&CC_020000 PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_001C&CC_0200 Compatible Ids: PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_001C&REV_01 PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_001C PCI\VEN_168C&CC_020000 PCI\VEN_168C&CC_0200 PCI\VEN_168C PCI\CC_020000 PCI\CC_0200 Service: Athr Device class: Net Device class guid: {4d36e972-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318} Driver key: {4d36e972-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}007 ConfigFlags: 00000000 Manufacturer: Atheros Communications Inc. Bassy Sweeeeet
I have exactly the same problem ! I wait impatiently the Atheros kext. We should demand some of the top developers to create us a stable driver!!!! I really want this wireless card to work!!!!!!!!! shine-away
I should of noted that it gives me Kernel Panic when I do the following: Restart Mac OS X, Shut Down OS X, Then when I power on it will just Kernel Panic meh. If you look in the KisMAC thread, it looks like there's a lot of people out there waiting for an Atheros 5007EG driver to be created. Perhaps we could get in touch with Apple and say we have purchased a real Mac and have ordered a AR5007EG to go in it. Maybe they would create one. Nah, i doubt they would. they might even ask if our laptops would be shipped out to them, and they will ask where u bought your laptop and stuff like that, so i would avoid that. I wanna know how to create kexts, because if i knew i would put in the time and effort to create a stable driver for this wireless card! I just wanna get this to work, have been attempting this for 1 year and 2 months!!!!

Spread the word, post this link in every forum u can (that relates to this wireless card) and see if some of the top developers can develop us a driver LMAO demand.... This is something that people work on in their own free time of their own free will. Feel lucky that you are running mac os on non-mac hardware at all. Frankly I see your comment as an insult to all the wonderful developers on here who give up their free time and energy to get things to work. Remember no one owes you anything!!! People like you are why developers end up giving up on projects because they get flooded with "is it done yet?" messages. Time will tell if your card ever gets supported, but in the meantime get yourself an osx compatible usb key or swap your internal wireless card with one that works and contemplate on your attitude. I for one am extremely grateful to every developer and contributor on these forums and have nothing but awe for their hard work and dedication, without which i would still be a frustrated windows user. Regards Niteman1969 I am sorry that i affended you. I pay my respects towards all the developers that made it possible for me to get my hardware running Mac OS X 10.5.6 I must have said it out of excitement, its just that i have been attempting to get my wireless card to work ever since march 2007. Recently i have made it be able to work using the kismac trick, but now i am on 10.5.6 it just doesn't want to work no more. I would like, and i would be highly greatful if someone could get this wireless card to work. Even better, if someone could teach me how to create kexts, and i could be one of those developers that produce kexts for people. Sorry for affending you once again - Bass2k9

WinSucks_4ever
Guys, I've been thinking since this Wireless PCI card is very commum on most laptops we need to make a stable driver which can reduce a lot of reboots and Kernel Panics. I Can try to create a new driver, but I need help. If anyone want's join to the project, please say it

Yep, I will try to make it work, since apple has used old versions of Atheros chipset. This probably need a lot of hex patching so I need someone with advanced programing skills. If we make it work, that will be for many people a good christmas present. xD
