too many people reporting funny funny errors, caused by user's inability to understand or read the guides... you are reporting an error on what? what did you install? which dvd? and when did it happen? also did you read the very first page of the guide about bios settings... I m kind of getting pissed off at some of the repeating problems... and no information given to get help... saying error error... please state what version of osx you are using? jas? nc10 10.5.4? 10.5.5? 10.5.6? when did the error happen? after what? and please for gods sake read the through the posts as well, i m fed up answering repeated same questions! Well i asked you in an earlier post about where the 10.5.5 drivers were and i said i had the Jas dvd already version:10.5.4 ORIGINAL JAS DVD+NC10 PPF I installed the Operating system and rebooted, went into windows to make windows partition primiary.. Rebooted and then selected the MAC OSX operating system then selected OSX 1 and waited then it loaded briefly on the gray mac screen and the restarted, The image i linked to is what i see,but from an old post(that user was using the msi wind iso...I'm not!) I allready posted every photo of the bios before you looked at them and said all was ok... Edit:I'm sorry i tried my best to help, but i have very little knowledge of the Mac operating system in fact since i found this thread was the first time i used it EDIT:Actually forget it!If you're gonna get pissed off with me just cause i can't be as "perfect" with mac osx as you..I think i'd rather go and figure it out for myself and let you get on with your wining |

Edit:I'm sorry i tried my best to help, but i have very little knowledge of the Mac operating system in fact since i found this thread was the first time i used it you are not reporting problems correctly, first you said original 10.5.4 you are using, and in next post, you are mentioning jas-nc10, and you didnt even say why exactly you needed the nc10 10.5.5 driver pack? you updated to 10.5.5 or you are trying to? as you are saying you were fine with 10.5.5, so you somehow messed it up too? restoring windows should not mess up your mac drive, you could just add back the c:\chain0="osx" line and everything would be ok, however you dont even know how to do it again correctly either... your bios screens means nothing to me, apart from checking to see you do it right, but i see it many times that people keep saying they do everything right when more than half the time they dont! i say read this page in the guide, people confirm 100 times and yet still wrong... how do i know you did all the previous steps correctly? you did install some other things, and messed up the system, how i know? because that screen post you sent shows you either upgraded your system and/or messed up doing some funny things (probably you installed things on top of previous install to make a nice mix of driver soup without erasing the partition to install) and acpi-apic versions dont match at the end cause that error you are seeing! i suggest you to go get torrent or ppf to patch original jas, you are refusing that as well... i told you what to do, if you do it correctly, you wouldnt have problem, you dont follow it, it is your problem... again, read the latest guide and get the latets package else, learn to fix things on your own adamcarter: i can confirm the error you mention, and i think it is either another bios bug or acpibatterymanager bug... eitherway i cant do anything, just make apropriate power profile for that situaton if it bothers you that much, noth like end of life... |

I just finished installing OSX on my NC10 using the patched iso from the torrent. It boots up fine, but I have no working network: both the ethernet and wifi cards are missing. What did I do wrong?

Nothing. For integrated WLAN and LAN, there is currently no reliable drivers. You can watch a Dell 1390, 1490, 1500, 1505 buy. These should be out of the box work. |

Hey ludoo,
I think you did everything right, Ethernet is still unsupported because there are no drivers for the marvel/yukon hardware I think. And your original nc10 wireless card won't work either.. you'll have to replace it with this dell-mini-pci card which was mentioned a couple of times in previous posts. I for myself took the card out of my mac-mini which also works perfectly fine. So unless you already replaced your wifi card this is completely normal. Cheers, iXXn |

If you don´t want wo buy a new wireless card search in the Hradware/Driver - Wireless board.
There is al solution for the ar5007eg but it is very instable. I bought a Dell 1390 works out of the box. EDIT: thats the post: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=138351 |

Thanks a lot for the replies! Guess my OSX partition will stay unused until new drivers are available, then.

Thanks a lot for the replies! Guess my OSX partition will stay unused until new drivers are available, then. you dont get it i think, there is no reliable drivers for stock LAN and WIFI, and I would not really hope for stable drivers for those in the near future... if you want internet on OSX, get a usb lan like apple's usb-lan, or get one of the mentioned Dell wifi... else your osx will stay unused for a long time |

I replaced the stock hard disc with a 30Gb OCZ SSD module - and so for space reasons have only a single partition, containing OS X.
To save me from having to crack the machine open again and temporarily replace the original disc, can anyone suggest a download location for a USB-bootable Windows image that I could load from a USB drive in order to upgrade the system's firmware with the latest BIOS update? (Alternatively, if anyone's managed to work out any way to extract the actual flash image from the Windows installer for use from DOS, this would be an even better option. The only other approach would be if Wine has sufficiently low access to allow the BIOS update to be performed - but I'm guessing that this isn't the case... ) |

I posted a problem with the NC10 restoring partitions and the XP restore. My problem boils down to the fact that when I did a bare metal restore (rebuilt entire hard disk) using the XP restore disk, XP would not install. The install would work past the point that the partitions are made and the install copies setup files to the hard drive, then the system reboots and you are supposed to go into the user interface supported portion of the install. But on my nc10, it just starts at the beginning of the install again. forgetting it had already done part of the install.
Also in the bios, there is an explanation point next to the hard drive. This means that the bios is sensing an issue with the hard disk. Samsung support did not have any answers, they offered to do a repair. I returned my nc10 for exchange to Amazon.com, as it appears the hard disk or bios/controller is defective. Just wanted to log that in case someone else runs into this problem |

Where is the installation log kept? I was trying to upgrade a stock install of Jas 10.5.4 to the NC10 10.5.6 using DDMac, but when I boot off of the ddmac partition and get to the install step, it says no installation media could be found. I've followed the instructions on the first page but had some issues understanding it.

just confirming what borelli said, DO NOT UPDATE YOUR BIOS or your mac partition wont boot!
edit: found a solution! reboot, press f2, go to advanced, go to EDB and enable it. (the bios update disabled it) phew!! |

read the guide guys! i put the bios settings to page 1 and people are still ignoring it!
endless reboot is caused by EDB setting disabled! I provided in the guide as first page!... stuart: download the 10.5.6 ppf, and apply it! easiest way to do it! |

I can't well you can get 1-2 days rs account for coupe bucks... also when you apply ppf, just make sure to check md5!!! than u can track down where the error is... else, you may be using a wrong iso which would cause some issue... |

I applied the ISO and did an MD5 check and it came out fine. When I installed it it still ran 10.5.4. I think I'll just use msiosx for a bit while the 10.5.6 download works.
