Which string did you edit/delete in the info.plist within the PrefPane? What value did you change VendorID to (if it was changed)? just remove those two parts using terminal <key>VendorID</key> <strig>code</string> how to do it? open terminal sudo su enter password nano /System/Library/PreferencePanes/Trackpad.prefPane/Contents/Info.plist use only arrow keys to scroll down to above key and string area and delete them both... using del key after that ctrl+O (letter O and not number 0) enter ctrl+X reboot ... MR_CP can you provide me information regarding which iso (file name) did you use to upgrade and etc.. also can you provide me the install log on the error, because install log provides the information? because i may have forgotten something inside the dvd upgrade process which causes the error (i think i know |

hi guys,
merry christmas to all, well I've read the thread for a while back however, i have a few questions. like- 1) does anybody elses samsung nc10 create a 71gb xp partition because in the guide of Myst.. his is only 70gb? if so is there a way i can safely repartition my hd to only 70gb and "chop off" that 1 gig? on the partition topic. second question is whether anyone has a premium rapidshare account i could borrow to download the 10.5.6 ppf for my jas 10.5.4 or could anyone send/host their 10.5.6 ppf somewhere free please. |

@Mysticus C*
I did exactly what you said but don´t see trackpad in System pref. Macbe you could upload your Trackpad.prefPane. I have installed 10.5.6. Do you have any idea about the monitor problem? (Post on page before) // Trackpad in Sys Pref works now after 2 reboots thanks. But is it possible to get Trackpad scrolling working?? |

Delete that line. The "code" is a generic way for Mysticus to ID the following line. However, I am not able to get this to work on my US NC10. I'd love to be able to tweak the sensitivity of the on-board pad for those times I do not have a mouse. |

Hi all,
and thx very much Mr. Mysticus for all your work and dedication towards this project! I recently got the nc10 and am currently running 10.5.4 from the msi....iso (only osx on only one osx partition, no windows). Everything works fine except the usb ports (devices will only mount if they were present during boot up). Also I think, with this solution I won't be able to update to 10.5.5 or 10.5.6... So.. my question is if it is ok to do the following: recover the jas10.5.6 iso (which I just finished downloading) to a usb-stick, use osx86tools to make the stick bootable (Add EFI Strings/Boot Flag), install from jas iso to only one osx-partition (without doing all the formatting to get n drives because I won't be running windows on the thing and also, I'm not running windows at the time so doing the formatting stuff might get kind of tricky) I will stick to your guide except for the parts mentioned above (usb-install, one partition) also.. could (will) there be problems because I've been using the msiwind-iso the first time? (I simply didn't know about this postings so I tried the first thing that came to my hands... and as I said, everything is running fine except the usb ports) I know that's quite a bit to ask but maybe you're able to look into it. And maybe (hoping) it'll work just fine this way =) Cheers, iXXn |

You have to do exactly what Mysticus C* said.
Delete the lines: <key>VendorID</key> <integer>1452</integer> save and do 1 oder two reboots. that worked for me |

When I try to force launch it from the System/Library/PreferencePanes directory I get a message in Sys Prefs telling me that I need to attach a device to make the option available to me (my wording, not OSX's). I'm more than a little puzzled. Can you send me your PrefPane so I can test it? |

whenever you edit something like that. rebooting twice may work, but your best best is repairing permissions on the disk. That usually fixes it.

everything is running fine except the usb ports) hey iXXn, I have a solution for you. I'm also running msiwindosx86 on my nc10 but I found a fix on this forum for USB ports. Download usb_fix 1.3 by LioNEXT http://rapidshare.com/files/115617132/usb_fix_1.3.mpkg.zip Run usb_fix_1.3.mpkg file Select CUSTOMIZE button Select TOH Sleep 9.2 kernel + system.kext Reboot. your USB ports should be recognized. @Mysticus Is it okay to use your NC10_10.5.6_Install_Package on msiwindosx86 distro? I don't want to redownload your distro since msiwindosx work otb for me (usb_fix + wifi is dell 1490, and I dont need headphone for now). What are some consequences if I do an 10.5.6 update? Wouldn't it be a good idea to make your next ppf based on msiwindosx? (not sure what windosx based on) I have tried iAtkos, kaylaway, Jas. They all come with a long list of things to choose on setup. One mis tick will cost several more hours to get to the right setting. So far, msiwindosx simplified the installation process to bare minimum. Boot, create partition, default setting, install. |

ohh sorry about that, apparently i skipped the whole reading and went straight to the file. Thanks for the fix.
I guess I'll stay away from 10.5.6 for now since everything works great at this moment. Maybe I'll get your distro after the break (school's internet is blazing fast). You should take a look at msiwindosx, it certainly is the easiest method to put osx on netbook for newbies. http://blog.wired.com/gadgets/2008/12/samsung-hc-10-h.html (also work using ddmac method) |

Mysticus. I had a question lots of apple apps have window sizes that go beyond the boundaries of our desktop. for instance when picking spaces preferences, or in iwork certain buttons cant be reached when selecting a template. Anything that can be done bout that you think, or do I have to muddle through it best I can. Probably the later cause it must be built into the OS
