just to say I've got everything working as per Post 1 and it didn't take too long after I had burned the latest ISO.

I must have read all the postings on this thread three times over just to make sure I didn't do anything silly before doing the install.

The NC10 is even better now. I look forward to even more refinements to this project

enjoy mate smile.gif

THX Mysticus C*!

I have NC10_JaS.OSx86.10.5.6.Intel.SSE2.SSE3_Mysticus.iso (torrent) with an external drive installed.

After the first restart, I had continually restart. I then removed the external drive. The installation went further. The registration, I bypassed.

Thanks to your tutorials works even brightness control.

Barns times whether a solution for the integrated LAN / WLAN can find.

mbato: stock wifi has temp solution, which i highly not recommend, as it is very buggy solution... just get a dell dw 1490 or 1500 series wifi, and u will forget about wifi problem... however, lan has no driver support yet, someone is working on it, but dunno the progress yet...

epineprin: i dont know anyone here who has 3g built in nc10 here or none mentioned they had one... smile.gif sorry no idea if it will work or not... just check the 3g oem provider whether they have os x support or not...

darkgemini:

what was the full name of your iso that you used to upgrade? (jas original? jas+ 1st ppf? nc10 10.5.5?)

1) you copied your first iso (the one that you are trying to upgrade) to root of osx main?
2) you copied 10.5.6 combo update to root of osx main?
3) you used the dvdupgrade mpkg to install osx main?

can you answer these questions?

also md5 will be different due to file sizes/dates and additional temp files being created inside iso image wen mounted...

The full name of my iso that I used to upgrade is Samsung-NC10-10.5.5.iso
1. Yes, I copied my Samsung-NC10-10.5.5.iso to root of osx main
2. Yes
3. yes

But, never mind me Mysticus. I decided to go the other round which is using the Jas-to-NC10-10.5.6.ppf to upgrade the original Jas (had to pay Premium Account to get that file off RPS sad.gif ). MD5 checked is matched with your, so I think I'm good to go now

if u say you did everything correctly it must have done it, but either you did a step wrong, or i may have a typo error in the scripts.... which i will check later... anyways ppf is the safest way...

5 Hours left for downloading the torrent for me, I will continue to seed until my wireless card shows up in the post and I switch to mac for good. There is a healthy amount of seeders atm, good work!

I think I have a handle on how to install but just to make sure... can I get a link to the PDF guide? I can't seem to find it! biggrin.gif

Can't wait to see osx on the small screen!

update news: with a little help from someone, we ll be solving the sleep issue as well guys smile.gif

I found that there are certain AppleACPIBatteryManager.kext bundles going around which cause the sleep problem - I upgraded to what looked like a more recent update, and then found that sleep required a reboot to restart the OS.

Reverting to my existing version (possibly 1.0.14) both gives accurate battery stats and power management without any sleep issues.

I've found that with 10.5.6, AppleACPIPlatform.kext is no longer needed - and if anyone is having sleep issues, it might be worth giving alternative BatteryManager extensions a go.

I have a kext that may allow the multitouch support on our nc10 trackpad. its 1.2 megs I think it is something to look at...

Has this been tested on an NC10 (or, indeed, anything with a Synaptics pad) and worked?

Care to share, or do you have a download link handy? wink.gif

Merry Christmass everyone!

Well, I messed up my nc10 trying to get the xp partition to be smaller. Then I tried the Samsung XP restore disk, which put me into a standard XP install that crashed halfway through. I cannot get the install to work.

Then I tried remaking the main partition in the XP installer and thart didin't work. The Samsung bios appears to need the recovery partition to be working in order to boot into your xp partition. I don't think mine is working. Does anyone know how to setup the Samsungs partitions so it will boot in XP? Any online resources?

I have an Acronis backup of the xp partition before I fooled with it, and Acronis runs and restores the disc image, but bios still says no operating system. The bios will not boot from the restored partition and there is no setting in bios to change boot drive.

I was so close to installing the new ISO too!

I have read the full thread and now got a NC10.
But after installation I only see the apple logo a second and it reboots.
I am form Germany and have read sth. about a trick for that but I can´t find it.
Does someone no on which site the solution is?

But maybe this is another Problem because I can´s even see the Welcome screen. Only the apple logo for a second.
Thanks

update news: loa2000's pointed solution for trackpad actually works, didnt realize it because i was looking for tracpad settings in keyboard/mouse, it actually puts a tracpad menu separate to system preferences!!! smile.gif lol no wonder why i didnt see it...

people can do it manually or i will provide a solution (installer) for it if people are interested...
see the trackpad menu next to keyb/mouse menu

inside trackpad menu

I seem to have done something wrong with mine lol,
did the update to upgrade my 10.5.4 Jas dvd to the samsung 10.5.6 nc10 install, installation goes successfully, i've reformatted both my original osx install and my ddmac partition, install the nc10 install to the ddmac partition, however when i go to boot from start up i get hal.dll not found
so kinda confused on what it could be?
any help?

ps merry xmas to all

Definitely interested in the trackpad solution, it's acting a little eratic for my liking OTB biggrin.gif

Everything installed great for me on my second attempt although I do have one small problem. I find that I have to hit F4 on startup to get the boot menu or else I just get a "OS not found" message (my heart sank when I first saw this). Is there anyway I can tidy this up so OSX boots automatically?

Cheers!

I am also interested in the trackpad solution.
But I have two other small problems.
1: How can I install the German language file.
I selected German as language but the main OS is still english.
2. I had an external monitor connected to the netbook and selected mirroring (or sth like that)
I got a crazy picture on both monitors.
I pluged the monitor off and everything was alright but when i connect the ex. monitor I always get this picture so I am not able to change mirroring. Is there an option to change this by key combination oder sth like that?
Hope you understand my english

Thanks

Which string did you edit/delete in the info.plist within the PrefPane? What value did you change VendorID to (if it was changed)?
