darkgemini:
what was the full name of your iso that you used to upgrade? (jas original? jas+ 1st ppf? nc10 10.5.5?) 1) you copied your first iso (the one that you are trying to upgrade) to root of osx main? 2) you copied 10.5.6 combo update to root of osx main? 3) you used the dvdupgrade mpkg to install osx main? can you answer these questions? also md5 will be different due to file sizes/dates and additional temp files being created inside iso image wen mounted... sim01: correct md5 will be different due to reasons i mentioned above loa2000: i will look into that and sure i will make one installer for that if it fixes the issue easy note: it doesnt fix the issue as it is.... |

THANK YOU MYSTICUS!! I am completely in awe of all the great work you have done!
I got an nc10 from a business partner for xmas as a thanks for the work I did for him this year. I had been telling him how cool it is that you can run OSX on it! I have a couple of questions after reading the guide. First, I want to buy a Leopard license for the nc10. Does it matter which build I buy? Will I use the disk at all for registering it? Ebay has some deals. My nc10 is original, I have just downloaded the Official Combo disk, do I need NC10 DVD/ISO (Jas+NC10 PPF) or NC10 10.5.5 DVD/ISO (Jas+NC10 PPF) you mention in the guide? |

Hi
i've been lurking and reading up on all this for a long time, and although a newbie have been realy careful and thorough, but now have a problem I can't find an answer to in this thread. Hope you can help with this... Downloaded JAS 10.5.4. Upgraded ISO to 10.5.6 using latest upgrade package, coupled with the combo update (resulting in Samsung-NC10-10.5.6.iso) Followed guide to partitioning and used DDMAC with samsung iso Bios settings set exactly as shown in pics booted into OSX installer and formatted an osx partition as HFS Journaled. installation seems to be going absolutely fine until it reaches time remaining 6 mins. Then it hangs. Forever... the only variable I can find which I've found no info on is when updating the original Jas 10.5.4 ISO, there was an option to update partition for DDMAC to 10.5.6. Does this need to be checked (I did check it, presuming if I were using DDmac i'd need to) Any other ideas? Any help appreciated |

hello all and merry Xmas !!
I've installed osx 10.5.6 but now I've lost the touchpad option... I read the post from loa2000 but it seems a bit difficult for a noob like me I've installed 10.5.6 via jas 10.5.4 and ppf nc10 , then upgrade to 10.5.5 and upgrade 10.5.6 no pb with brightness international ; I change for french osx but I don' t have 100% french... I've to DL jas 10.5.4 again because when I use MST MD5 (under xp) I don't have the same checksum number.... I've tried to patch jas 10.5.4 with nc10 10.5.6 ppf but the iso doesn't work |

Great work with the updates and Install Packs. I had a preinstalled NC10 OSX 10.5.5 from your previous PPF method and updated to 10.5.6 this AM. No issues with the upgrade process or the reinstall of the NC10 Drivers.
My one issue right now is with the brightness script -- it works properly (again, thanks for the guide) but I am getting neither your icons nor RedRooster's icons when I activate the Script via Quicksilver trigger. I ran the update icon PKG from biketown but have not been able to get the "window dressing" to go along with the Script. |

Had Show Window checked on both. Gave it a reboot and re-did the Hotkeys -- now it works. Not sure if it was the reboot or the redo, but all is well now. Many thanks.

I am at the formatting stage following the Pdf meticulously and the last drive says unallocated not free space....so I cant make it a logical drive not sure why
so I have a healthy 34.18GB non formatted disk and a 37.82 unallocated doesnt show up as green still black unallocated. (this is why I hate windows) |

(this is why I hate windows) you need to make extended partition first >>> then create logical partitions in it with spesific sizes... create extended partition >> create logical partitions in the extended area... i will fix the slide over that area... |

just to say I've got everything working as per Post 1 and it didn't take too long after I had burned the latest ISO.
I must have read all the postings on this thread three times over just to make sure I didn't do anything silly before doing the install. The NC10 is even better now. I look forward to even more refinements to this project |
