if you have your jas 10.5.4 original iso, what you can do is:
download dvdupgrade 10.5.6 package from previously give temp link download 10.5.6 combo update from apple, and place it in the root of your current working osx partition copy the original jas 10.5.4 to root same as above (make sure you have a copy of jas dvd still somewhere in case anything goes wrong) run the dvd upgade 10.5.6 package>>>> this will convert your 10.5.4 jas to a samsung nc10 10.5.6 iso now read the full pdf guide, to reinstall everything as 10.5.6? ========================================= Anyone with RS account want 10.5.6 ppf for original Jas, PM me for information, it is ready... ========================================= |

I download it ! I download combo too ! But I don't have an osx partitions for the moment, cause I totally resintall my NC10 !
I only have XP for the moment ! It will be more easy to use you PPF for directly converting my 10.5.4 JAS DVD ? And start with a 10.5.6 install ? |

mystrius, trust me, I've read every post and your old and new tutoriial before I got started (granted I'm new to OSX). If I ask a question, it's because I'm looking for clarification that is not obvious (to me).
Anyway now that it's obvious the dvd upgrade to 10.5.6 needs OSX installed to get the iso then I gues I won't bother. I need to start from 10.5.4 and I supose I can upgrade to 10.5.6 via apple.com once I have OSX installed. One request mate, calm down and stop thinking every poster who doesn't have the same level of knowledge as you is a cabbage. People are people mate and you are one of us. |

everyone should receive some xmas wish messages from me by now
blade: it is Mysticus C* (not mystrius???? who is that?) apply ppf to original jas in windows (you dont need to have osx installed for this time only) but for future purposes, i suggest you to try to understand the process, it is fairly simple... later update will be integrated to current 10.5.6 dvd from now on, no more dvd upgrade process for earlier version again after this 10.5.6 ppf for jas...) jas 10.5.4 original + jas to nc10 10.5.6 ppf = Latest and fastest NC10 installation... |

- Anybody know if there exist a Dell 1490 drivers wifi card for XP ??? I tried a lot of them but nothing is working !!! :/ Tazevil- Actually, all you need to do is go to the Dell website and search support area for the correct xp drivers for the 1490. They have several packages that work - Remember, Dell only uses windows xp and vista anyways, so they make drivers for both platforms for all of their hardware. |

Hi,
Just thought I'd chime in to thank mysticus for all his work. I am picking my NC10 up tomorrow having already ordered new RAM, a Dell 1490 and downloaded the original JAS. Really looking forward to the 'jas to nc10 10.5.6 ppf' to become available! Keep up the great work! |

jooster: in the guide i mentioned i think, go to sound in system preferences anc change output to internal speaker
mouse problem is something i m aware of and either from 10.5.6 update which some people already mentioned, and because i prefered to use most drivers stock (vanilla) this is something to live with, some things are sacrafisable sleep in power doesnt work but i mentioned it already, but know that i m working on a solution for it with dsdt fix jeanjd: delete your post please it is not correct information! no body do what he suggested pls... tazevil: you are complete noob... adamcarter: not myself, but hopefully some people who promised to do so will do it |

Yeah, I just realized, when I installed my custom XP ISO, I blew away all of the partitions, including the recovery partition. This means I'm pretty much screwed now, right? I can't install OS X without the recovery partition, right?
Ah, crap |

Ah, crap no you are not screwed totaly, it will work still if you did the things right, but if you will have to make a full recovery in the future for some reason, you will have trouble! i only mentioned last partition to be removed, i dont understand why people do remove recovery partition... it is for your nc10's xp recovery and only 6 gb size... i hope you understand the concern... |

Well I've got a bootable USB drive with XP on it, so if I totally mess something up then I can just reinstall from that. I have all of my stuff backed up, so no worries there. I've got a patched 10.5.6 NC10 ISO ready to go. I would've installed last night but it was a long day at work so I went to bed! I'll give it a go tonight. |

thx @ Mysticus C* for your great work and the time you spent for this project
I have a question. I have a Samsung NC10 (of course ; ). I Installed iDeneb 1.3 (running kernel 10.5.5). Everything works fine so far. Now I want to use your scripts for brightness control. I extracted the increase/decrease script and change-brightness file from your NC10 10.5.6 installer package. I installed Quicksilver and configured the hot keys. If I wan't to use the script I can only see the icons for the brightness controll on the screen, but the brightness do not change. Now my question Which kext do I need from your package top make it work. Which kext files I Must replace with your kext files. Or is ist neccessary that i first upgrade to 10.5.6? I replaced my AppleInteGMA950.kext and AppleIntelIntegratedFrameBuffer.kext with yours but nothing changed What do I need for brigthness controll. Thx. |
