"paul: your problem is the easiest to solve
put your nc10 modified iso to root of your current working partition (no name change pls, exactly how it is originally) put combo update 10.5.6 to root of your current working partition, and run the dvd upgrade 10.5.6 this process will convert your current nc10 10.5.4 dvd to a nc10 10.5.6 dvd iso with the new dvd iso in hand, copy it your windows xp partition (either using an external drive or paragon ntfs) and start reading the new pdf guide... (you can remove all previously created partitions and start new guide-- with recover partition and xp partition in hand, remove all others? and read the guide further you will understand)" Just to be sure: 1) 'root of current working partition' refers to the OSX 10.5.4 system currently running on the NC10? 2) 'put combo update 10.5.6 to root of your current working partition, and run the dvd upgrade 10.5.6' - so this picks up the nc10 modified iso automatically? - didn't know that 3) so when I follow your new guide (ver 2.0) I will essentially destroy the original OS 10.5.4 install by the change in partition sizes and the reinstall of 10.5.6? Again thanks for your massive efforts on this project [/quote] |

What is the correct file name for the nc10 updated 10.5.4 iso file so that I can make a nc10 10.5.6 from it ?
Thanks. unfortunately DVDupgrade_10.5.6.mpkg is corrupt - I tried downloading twice from 2 different PCs. |

g4-flo:
i installed my original install on stock card which is not airport as you know, and did not have that loop problem, i m not saying it is not related to airport (probably related as well) but when i didnt have 1490 card, it still didnt have any loop error at all didnt check my older install for trackpad after 10.5.6 update but you can give old drivers a try... (appleacpi=appleapic=appleps2) these 3 drivers are for the kb/mouse/trackpad... also i never tried the alps trackpad beta driver either... battery meter issue is probably related to the powermanagement bundle... if you installed previous packages, you probably have older patched pm bundle if you know how to use terminal you can remove the pm bundle current one, and rename the .orig one to bundle (powermanagement.bundle) it should fix the issue (i forgot the bundle issue also have you tried the dvd upgrade pack? another user said it is corrupt, which is possible because sometimes during upload process, things can get haywire... i will check it and see if it is true... paul: for iso upgrade process: you said you have jas patched iso right? (jas+ppf=nc10 10.5.4 iso but file name should be still the same =JaS.OSx86.10.5.4.Client.Server.Intel.SSE2.SSE3.iso) 1) place the JaS.OSx86.10.5.4.Client.Server.Intel.SSE2.SSE3.iso (if you didnt rename the ppf added jas) to your root (root is the top level , like in windows C:\JaS.OSx86.10.5.4.Client.Server.Intel.SSE2.SSE3.iso, in osx if you named partitions same as in the previous guide, open finder click on the osx1 name and on the right side you should see files/folders, like system, library, applications etc... that place is root, just drop the iso there among the folders, but not inside any folder!!!) 2) place the combo 10.5.6 update in the same place as above: root!!! 3) run the dvd upgrade installer, step1 and step 3 are choosen, dont touch them, in step 2, choose sub option under dvd iso update/nc10 10.5.4 to nc10 10.5.6 option only... DONT JUST CHOOSE DVD ISO because it will select all sub options==> 10.5.5 iso to 10.5.6, 10.5.4 jas to 10.5.6, 10.5.4 nc10 to 10.5.6<=== three option!! will give you error!! only choose one sub option under dvd iso) at the end, it should spit out samsung-nc10-10.5.6.iso in the root (meaning it will update the JaS.OSx86.10.5.4.Client.Server.Intel.SSE2.SSE3.iso t 10.5.6 and rename it samsung-nc10-10.5.6.iso) and yes you will destroy all previous partitioning for better structure... clean install! clear? blade: i will check the package, it is possible that it may be corrupted in the upload process, what kind of error are you getting? original jas iso name: JaS.OSx86.10.5.4.Client.Server.Intel.SSE2.SSE3.iso ppf added jas iso name:JaS.OSx86.10.5.4.Client.Server.Intel.SSE2.SSE3.iso meaning they are same, only 10.5.5 nc10 upgrade was renamed to something else rt91: when you press the mac os x option, press the f8 button so quickly (in split second = like half a second or less, this issue is caused by missing counter i think, i never checked boot.plist before to edit just press the f8 key as quick as possible after the mac os x selection it will bring the options |

looks like a limitation of winrar directory structure why do you unzip it in windows? it is made for osx ================= Some Media News: ================= NC20 is coming out, but hold there, no ATOM!, it is based on VIA processor: 1.3GHz VIA Nano U225 processor, a 12.1-inch display, 160GB hard drive, 1GB of RAM, Bluetooth 2.0, 802.11b/g etc same specs...

Yeah I'm not interested in anything with a VIA CPU in it. Personally I'm hoping Samsung does something with NVIDIA's Ion thing.

blade: please read before you ask...
dvd upgrade process currently for people who have installed osx using previous dvds, and i didnt make a ppf for it due to file size (1.5 gb) so yes, you need to have osx installed before you can have 10.5.6 dvd but not the 10.5.6 install pack... you are confusing yourself... dvd upgrade project was not my intention initially but thought it would be fun, since people downloaded jas and ppfed it, i made another project to get your current isos to latest in case you need them in future! 10.5.6 install pack is for people who update from 10.5.5 or who are using different distros which i dont really support (but people who are usin other methods should have knowdledge to do things on their own anyways!) on the other hand, I made a ppf (info about it will be released soon) as well, seeing the mess/trouble noobs creating here (noobs= people who does not read, want a quick solution and want it now without any hassle) i have no due to entertain anyone either, this is fun, but noob questions like that keep coming too often, getting to my nerves... please read around before you post... i have made a lot of progress, and info is now all over the place, which im trying to tidy it up into first post, until then learn to read throughly... not just last posts... sl3: i agree but it has a different target i guess... nc20 looks sexy, but i m not about functionality/power/price ratios... since it is on 12.1, it may be targeted for business who knows? rt91: my bad, what did you do and how did you install? and and excatly what happens in sequence/order? |

Wow! Since installing the 10.5.6-version I am experiencing much better battery life due to lower screen brightness. Very good!
I have an issue though. I can't change the screen brightness with the scripts. The brightness icon appears when I press win+up, but nothing happens. Can it be because I don't have CHUD installed? I'll try to install it and try again. |

OK, I'll try your workaround. Can I use single kexts from your update package, also? How can I update with your package without changing the computer model (MacBook Air)? As I told you, it's a little benefit for me to have a faked MBA because of remote disc. |

I start to reinstall my NC10 Just a question, I try to find it on topic.... what is VoodooHDA driver ?? voodoohda is HDA driver, is a written by voodoo team from scratch based on bsd drivers, to replace applehda driver. With applehda, there is only certain limited amount of codecs built in, makes it hard to work with other codecs like in nc10s and many others... SO voodoo team decided take it up o them, and assembled new hda driver, which claims to support 99% of the codecs out there... however it is still in internal testing, soon will be external testing with selected people, and afterwards will be released when fully ready... meaning you will have internal speaker, hp, internal mic, external mic working w/o trouble or scripts or any funcy way... g4-flo: macbook air names come with smbios+smbiosefi combination from the driver pack... swe: 10.5.6 version drivers? or 10.5.6 iso? because 10.5.6 iso has built in chud ==================================== Anyone whoever has RS account and want ppf, pm me ==================================== |

Mysticus, when we're updating our DVD, we need COMBO 10.5.6 or just the Delta 10.5.6? Because I used the delta and it give the "Installation Fail" error after clicking Install

dark: i said many times: 10.5.6 combo update
tazevill, after install finished, you can install my additional installer, to replace dvd icon set, to realrooster's design apple like icons... it is also in the temp link place check it the icons from the dvd are my own ugly ducklings, but you can replace it easily with the additional installer i provided... also for wifi drivers: i will provide them later tonight |
