thanks for all your hard work on this! i used your guide for setting the bios and partitions on my machine however so far I've had most success using the msiwindosx dvd, this has given me most of the functions i need. Bluetooth Sound Wifi (dell 1490) screen resolution sleep etc... My only real issues are: the usb weirdness, have you fixed this? when booted with a usb device it works fine but it won't mount new usb devices plugged in whilst the machine is running! also the headphone switching, i have downloaded a modified switch.sh installed chud and aziliaaudio kext is present however i still can't seem to get the hadphones working! also in theory is it possible to get the trackpad working like a macs? with multiple finger scrolls etc? is there someway i can get these bad boys going? Thanks again the only reason my guide didnt work for you is because you didnt read it carefully... also what you mean by most success? nc10 dvd is better than msiwindosx due to the fact that it is customized for nc10! and with the latest dvd upgrade option, it is contains latest chameleon bootloader, and drivers and settings that gives you brightness control! (if you set it correctly) now dvd will be using ps2nub driver so that acpi and apic will be stock vanilla! as well... you will have almost full vanilla except: gma drivers (for known reasons) hda drivers (for known reasons) ich7x drivers (for known reasons) and most needed additional drivers disabler natit acpibatteryman and hopefully soon, i will solve the sleep (in power) issue with help from dense kabyl or other modder guys full audio is already in the works... the only thing that would be a problem is pickiness of the user and ability to understand and follow the guides carefully... |

Any one of us can host the finalized nc10 iso/.dmg as a torrent somewhere? That may cut down on half the problems people are having with checksums and such. Thanks

The patch is updated regularly, so it's better to keep iso and patch separated.

i hit a bump on my test at the moment, i m not sure exactly why but guessing i updated right files but used wrong iso on my test
as soon as i complete the test successfully i will wrap up the guide + install pack (for other distro users) + dvd upgrade pack i want to make sure that the system installs and runs correctly first only than i will release the files... i dont wanna mess up anyone's system... for the torrent, i will not do it myself, but anyone wanna do it, welcomed to do so... just pm me if you have intentions of torrenting... |

I received my NC10 the other day. Installed a custom XP I made by making a bootable USB drive. Great little machine!
I'm still waiting on my 1490, as well as Mysticus' updated patch. I'm also a little busy with work at the moment but hopefully I'll be able to install OS X after the new year and help any way I can. Keep it up, Mysticus. You're the NC10 OS X hero. |

I would totaly seed it torrent wise. But first I need a finalized approved version. as masterful as I am with computers this process seems quite complicated. Would love to just take a finalized nc10 dvd with 10.5.6 on it restore the cd to a usb drive and install from there. 44 min later everything "poifect"

ok i m back, and with good news... i made the final test and it works! great!
boot from os selection and enter to ready desktop state is 28 secs! great ey? now back to wrapping up the installer and guide with the latest pics wait is almost over... ============================================== adam: do you have os x (nc10 early version or jas?) installed? and if so which iso do you have in hand ready? because the upgrade iso process is very painless and takes only 1 min and will output a nc10 10.5.6 iso instantly... once you have the iso in hand, all you will need to do will be copy it to the windows partition and restart for the ddmac guide from windows to have a complete clean install... ============================================== |

Oh I totally understand what a script is, I write scripts all the time... However, I didn't realize that was our only option (kinda sucks but if it is the best we can hope for, oh well) Does it work the same way on XP? Myst you dont have to respond right away to my inquiries. I'd rather you dedicate your time to the cause. But, let me know if there is something i can do otherwise. |

Congrats and many thanks Mysticus C* and all the other contributors here
for making this thread such a precious resource for us nc10 owners. Could you please also carry on with upgrade packs as well as the ppf patches for the JaS iso, as so far I have used those on my msiwindosx installation and everything is working as it should. I should point out that my nc10 was installed on an mbr partition scheme, because I have upgraded to a 500gb western digital scorpion blue drive and I have a dell 1390 installed. 1st Partition is Primary 100.12gb Macintosh HD (journalled) 2nd is Primary 100gb Windows HD (ntfs) 3rd is 244.14gb Media (ntfs) holds video and music 4th is 21.48gb SHARE (fat32) for sharing files between mac and windows. It is much faster than the standard drive that comes with the nc10 and seems very fast and responsive. I am running msiwindosx upgraded to 10.5.6 which was first upgraded to 10.5.5 downloaded from Apple and using Mysticus C*'s nc10 1.0 package, Then by downloading 10.5.6 from Apples web site and using Mysticus C*'s ver 1.1 upgrade package. I prefer to upgrade than re-install, as I have much information and data on my osx install as well as my itunes library. Saying that i did have to re-install earlier today as i messed up doing the 10.5.6 update with the nc10 1.0 package. Luckily i have my original 160gb drive in a sata > usb hard drive dock from Maplins and after installing msiwindosx again transferred my settings / data with the mac option to transfer settings from another mac. This worked like a dream although it did stall at the step of transferring network settings and after waiting nearly an hour for it to end I did the only thing i could and turned it off via the power button. once restarted I had everything back and had to do the 10.5.5 and 10.5.6 upgrades again, this time using the nc10 1.1 update pack for 10.5.6 I have not tried the brightness solution yet as I am not yet versed in scripts and like everyone else the audio solution is not perfect, but at the moment I am using a usb headset when the need arises for a mic, but I am a very very happy bunny. Everything is working as expected and I would like to say a great big thankyou to Mysticus C* and everyone else in this thread who have contributed to make this the most valuable nc10 resource on the forum.
