I'm completey new to this and I'm wondering if the things you say are incompatible (like the wi-fi) are still compatible with XP after putting OSX on it. Also would this slow down the Samsung in any way?
Thanks |

Ok so I finally made the leap bought a NC10...blue...with all the fixins.
Now I need to go through all this minutia to figure out how to get all this stuff on... By the way, there is a script out there that removes all the PPC programing from the applications and such. Can you include that Myst C. I am looking forward to the final result. I want to make a bootable 8gb flash drive installer one shot... is it possible? |

you dont read the posts too often i guess? update to 10.5.6 manualy (download delta update 10.5.6 from apple) dont restart after finished/minimize! use my update patches from bike town, and install it with only nc10 option selected! no fix nothing else, restart after that, you will have everything working again, and use the gma 950 package again... today i could not finish the guide due to busy day tomorrow hopefully, i will edit the guide with better partitioning options and ddmac guide and new 10.5.6 upgrade dvd package (including new gma package) Mysticus, I check this threat everyday and read every new post Anyway, I just reinstall 10.5.5 and run the script right after that. It works now..it's seem like the script has some problem with Paragon NTFS or one of my other apps...because when I reinstall 10.5.5, install Paragon NTFS, and then run gma950 package --> it gives me error. But when I reinstall 10.5.5 and use the gma950 package right away, then it's ok...weird |

Really interesing work and I await the latest files/guides with interest. Got my NC10 today and changed the wireless card to the 1490 which OSX picks up no problem. My XP skills are less impressive and although I downloaded the driver from the Dell site when I try and install it it fails - any one any ideas on what I need to do in XP?

paul: i will provide solution for your windows driver after i finish this project just be patient, it is not the drivers problem, it is how the drivers are defined in the installer... dell installer simply ignores even if it matches device id... due to other hardware id checks... but you can still install it different way, which i will provide solution for...
to all others: i know many of you waiting for updated guide and it has been delayed due to different personal reasons but all i can tell u that i just tested the dvd upgrade, and it works beautifully brightness control implemented but not set up, which means you will need to follow the guide to set it up and you will be set to go... i made brightness icons as well, so every time u change brightness it will show symbols on screen as with volume controls starting the guide screen captures and implement them into the pdf guide so you will visualize everything... (i keep saying it but definitely will worth the wait trust me) my temporary hda solution is there as well (no hp but external mic works to some degree now back to work and hopefully this time i will finish it since there is nothing left to do in the dvd part now... |

thanks for all your hard work on this! i used your guide for setting the bios and partitions on my machine however so far I've had most success using the msiwindosx dvd, this has given me most of the functions i need.
Bluetooth Sound Wifi (dell 1490) screen resolution sleep etc... My only real issues are: the usb weirdness, have you fixed this? when booted with a usb device it works fine but it won't mount new usb devices plugged in whilst the machine is running! also the headphone switching, i have downloaded a modified switch.sh installed chud and aziliaaudio kext is present however i still can't seem to get the hadphones working! also in theory is it possible to get the trackpad working like a macs? with multiple finger scrolls etc? is there someway i can get these bad boys going? Thanks again |

Thanks again Hey jifop...I dont want to be one of those guys who says read the forum from the beginning. Each one of your questions has been addressed. I am going to do one better and say.... you need to wait another day or so and the MYST c dvd will be ready, it will be better than the msiwind one as it will be tailored to your nc10....tat being said. The headphone issue was just mentioned not 3 posts back... hope this helps. |
