dust mason:
(1) get this file and format your flash disk as fat32! (2) download the jas, (3) check md5, (4) download the ppf, (5) apply the ppf, (6) check md5 correct? (7) copy the iso to to somewhere on your netbook (8) use the (1) dd --ddmac-- as instructed here (9) once done, you will have what you asked for... rt91: you are a bit hyper? why are you rushing... just do the steps one at a time... while everything installed, u should have used the dvd upgrader... mujol: did you try to change language from the system preferences menu? mr_cp: have u tried the upgrade dvd package? |

Or can i just get a list of a few for dual booting, since windows is the active partition, it will always boot windows if u dont press f8 to choose osx... if you wanna make osx default, you need to activate the osx partition, but make sure osx partition is in the primary, and not in extended and not after an extended partition... what i mean is in the partitition table... osx has to be in primary and not after an extended partition 1 primary windows 2 primary windows 3 ext--(sub extended ones) 4 primary osx will not boot... it has to be stg like 1 primary windows 2 primary windows 3 primary osx 4 extended ... will work... |

I just finished creating Samsung-NC10-10.5.5.iso. I will try to reinstall the whole OSX again, this time I will make the OSX partition 30GB because 20GB is just not enough for me
Oh, how do I uninstall the old OSX1? Can I just delete the whole partition using Window's Disk Manager? |

the reason i asked u is for other friends may want u to install as well Yeh, they are being picky lol, they tested out my MacBook and the NC10 osx and can't decide between the two, I told them the NC10 is pretty perfect for everyday use. but alas being picky, plus the price of the NC10 has gone up recently someplaces to £329 |

Time spent waiting for the lenovo s10 to get delivered : 72 days
Time spent mucking with msiwindosx6/boot132/iAtkos and still could not get the s10 to sleep/wake : 4 days Time it took get really p-off with the stupid keyboard layout : 5 mins Able to get nc10 set up with to 10.5.5 in 1.5 hours flat : priceless. Mysticus, What else can I say but great job! Small donation sent your way. Nit: I'd suggest highlighting the checking of the EBD bit in slide 55. The problem with that page is that two things were highlighted, which only serves to distract from the one thing that really needs fixing. (A third of that 1.5 hours was spent figuring out that I overlooked this bios setting :-) ) By the way, I er kinda accidentally installed the server edition. The server delta updater (different from client) installs fine, but KP at the end, thus forcing me to reboot. Thereafter I was able to apply the NC10 1.10 installer fine. Was there any reason why you believe it was necesary to apply the 1.10 installer before restarting the machine right after the delta update? -lamder |

darkgemini: when u see installation screen, after the first continue button, u ll see a menu on top left, go to tools/diskutility... remember in the pdf guide erasing? same thing... just just osx1 and in the erase menu click eraase only... no change need to be done...
============================================= mr_cp: ============================================= lamder: u need the install nc10 package after the update is because of drivers! most drivers gets updated and some of the patched ones becomes obsolete! so you need to replace them with patched ones again, but most importantly, there is one script in the update package for restarting the machine and installing additional stuffs tht are not installed during the normal install... and a program to run which makes the install non working anymore... nc10 package replaces the non patched drivers that are necessary to regain the functions of vga, keyb/mouse, battery manager (which i found another solution now...) and fix the script that ruuns in next restart... so you have proparly functioning osx... you additionally read post #423 for easier install method... but before that, i suggest reading 385 for upgrading the dvd to 10.5.5... once you have done dvd upgrade on your current install (read post#385) you can alternatively install (ddmac-read post#423) nc10 iso to one of your hdd partitions... (creating a 4.4gb partition will be enough) and ur install will not take more than 30 mins ============================================= mujol: i dont check the language packages mate, if it was removed originally i cant really be any help mate sorry, but i can check other dvds to find the language package and maybe help u integrate it to an additional dvd, maybe next upgrade dvd... because there is plent of space i made in the dvd 939 mb free space is kind of enough for most things ============================================= nick14: it is not mind blowing performance but enough for day to day tasks... it is obviously more than just a netbook... i can watch tv with my usb stick tv card, and no problem at all in windows and osx... works perfectly fine... for most tasks... it runs iphoto fine.... didnt test too many programs, but for obvious reasons it will not replace a new macbook model, but can be compared to older macbooks... thought of course macbook will perform better but still... also consider the advantages /disadvantages as well... so you dont complain later that lan/wifi not working etc... |

Hi Mysticus,
I when through your original install method with 10.5.4 when it first came out and upgraded to 10.5.5 soon after with the v1.0 installer, and this all went fine. This all works OK (with known limitations) and I've installed other apps (ilife, office etc) and use it every day. Will there be a way in future of taking advantage of your new developments (drivers, fixes, 10.5.6 etc) without having to reinstall the whole system? Keep up the great work! |

g4-flo: i did hdd install and didnt have any trouble with any loop.. did it 10times at least during my tests, and in none of them i had the loop, as i see it happening only in german versions makes me think it may have something to do with the mobo revision? or something else, dunno whatever it is, it is happening only on german versions mate, sorry dont really know what is causing it... OK so far. Maybe thats right. An other idea why this loop is happening is maybe because my atheros card is still installed. The last time when I was trying to get out of the welcome-loop i booted the system in -v, -s and -x without success, but in the command lines i've seen that leopard tried to load the AtherosAirport-Driver but also without success because of the diferent chipsets to the original Atheros used in newer macs. Other users found out, that the welcome loop affects because osx wants to initialise the airport oder lan-card and maybe that's the reason why it ends up in a never-ending welcome-loop. But that's just a theory. Is it correct that my NC10 is detected in the system profiler as a MacBook Air? I just can say that Leopard is running fine and incredible fast now, but there are sume minor bugs: - Opening console the following message is about 1000times: CFGethHostUUIDString: unable to determine UUID for host. Error: 35 - Powermanagement is horrible ;-) The battery needs to be loaded extremely often - In my case, sleep mode after closing the screen doesn't work (battery-mode). Maybe thats because of the issue with the UUID... - The always-active webcam ;-) - What about simply deleting the driver? Would that work? Are there any ideas how to get the following work?: - powermanagement (reducing brightness, cpu-speed etc on battery-mode) - LAN (but not so important) - Mic It also seems to me, that the wrong driver for the gma950 is active. System profiler shows up that the gma950 hat 64MB of shared memory, but as known from the manufacturer this should be 128MB. |

This happens on proper Mac hardware too I believe. A Mac Mini only has the 64MB memory available to it under OS X, but if you boot camp Windows, the full 128MB is there. |

Mysticus, is there anyway to cut down the size of the samsung-nc10-10.5.5.iso? maybe leave out the server option or something? Because it's difficult to move the file between Window and Mac:
1. Mac can't write to NTFS 2. Can't move the file larger than 4GB to FAT32 |
