@Alabamas I tried installing the touchpad driver, but I wasn´t able to get it working. My problem is that I can´t do anything with the touchpad after installing. Maybe you could help me. What I did. Installed ALPS Glidepad Driver.pkg Then restarted. 2 times. After that I put your file in 2 directories, Then startet ffscroll by terminal try to install also the ApplePS2Controller.kext that is into the folder with kext helper, ffscroll startup you should add into the login-items on user-account preferences, sorry for my english ,i write from italy |

I have a question concerning the wireless. I have an old Powerbook (Aluminum 15-inch, 3-odd years old) that I no longer use. Can I pull the Airport card out of that and use it? Or should I just get the Dell? (and because the search function doesn't seem to turn up results, is there a specific Windows driver I'd need to pick out from the Dell site?)

I got myself a brand new dell 1390 for £9 including shipping through ebay. In OSX it worked just right out of the box, in Windows I had to download drivers. I followed a link (5-10 pages back) which took me to microsoft's website, where i searched for "dell 1390" and downloaded the driver it found for me, and it worked. I wouldn't bother opening the Powerbook if I could get a card for less than £15 if I was you |

It uses the old mini PCI standard, NC10 has PCI-E (Express) It's not interchangeable. |

Just for anyone interested there is a secret settings page
hidden in the latest 5CA bios which can be got to to increase video ram and some other settings. Press F2 when switching on to get into BIOS Once in BIOS Press FN key plus F11 (num lock light will illuminate) Press FN Key plus F12 (Scroll lock will illuminate). Press Caps lock so light illuminates, then press it again. Intel option will appear on screen. Strange way to hide options. I have set my graphics ram to max dvt and getting 224mb showing in xp but still only showing a 64mb card in osx , have not yet tried any 720p or 1080p quicktime trailers but it might help for WOW or other games???? Anyway anyone with any reports would be welcome. Regards Niteman1969 |

I have tested mobileme system preferences, and it does not ask any login or pass when you click on it... but when it opens and brings you the member name and sign in page...
the odd behaviour is probably caused by you not setting a password or you did mess up things... i doubt there is any problem with it, i tested it and it tries to connect to mobileme and cant verify password whatever, bcoz i dont have any... just used random info to test it... like i said, it is caused by messed up system or u didnt set up a password on your account maybe... also anyone with mobileme account can test and inform us to confirm... |

Here is a calibrated profile for the samsung lcd screen. Which gets rid of the blue shift which makes everything look ultra bright. nice! A night and day difference. The colors are tolerable now and look pretty good side by side with my expensive IPS LCD panel. great job. |

Try this: Sign out, run Repair Permissions and log-in using "your_account@me.com" (Don't use @mac.com) If that doesn't work here's Apple Discussions page: http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?...7637083#7637083 http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=7695954 |

Any idea why I have no sound?
I have used 10.5.6 links on the "Samsung NC10 files section" and then added CHUD and selected internal speakers. Thankyou Joan P.S: If it's been covered in any of the 85 pages please link me to that page :-) |

I just ordered a Samsung NC10 based on all the feedback. Had the Dell Mini 9 for a week and didn't like it, was a bear to install OS X on the small 8GB SSD, next ordered a Wind then found this thread and cancelled the Wind and now the Samsung will be here in a few days. Good find guys!
Anyway I just ordered the below card that will work with OS X and the NC10 but will it work with Windows if I ever decide to run it? Should I have gone with a Dell? Apple Airport Extreme Wifi Mini PCI-E Card 802.11n Thanks! |

I just got a brand new NC10 3G, and installed Mysticus 10.5.6 on it successfully, thanks a lot ! I got a main issue with sleep (on battery) : whatever the trigger (clamsheel, osx menu, fn keys) it hangs with power and wifi led on and fan still running. Have to force reboot... Any tips ? TIA |

sudo pmset -b hibernatemode 0 sudo rm -f /var/vm/sleepimage |

Hi guys. I really like this topic
I got everything to work , that amazing But yesterday I tried to have the MacBook gesture but anything worked like it should. So now I don't have both of my keyboard and mouse to work Y___Y, I don't want to reinstall it I have a lot of things on it So do you know where can I find a combo of 10.5.6 but the one used to install in NC10 because I didn't find it :s. Or could you upload AppleACPIPS2Nub.kext , ApplePS2Controller.kext please , I think if I put originals files and after repair autorisations it should work again Thank you in advance guys |

Well the Samsung is here....and it is gorgeous! Night and day compared to the Dell Mini 9. The keyboard is almost full sized, I think I read it’s about 90% size. The Dell’s keyboard was cramped as anything. Build quality is much better than the Dell. The Samsung is solid as a rock and the workmanship is flawless. I ordered the white with the pearl finish...beautiful. The screen is dang nice and bright and sharp. Has a matte screen which is blessing in brightly lit environments.
Now my dilemma...go for a dual boot and switch to Vista or stay with XP.... Vista has ReadyBoost where you connect a thumb drive - either usb or SD slot - to expand the "system" RAM. So I think I'm going with Vista. |

Hi, I'm in the middle of a nightmare!
I have been using my machine fine for weeks, I have 5 partitions( I removed the NC10 restore partition) I used the mysticus install method using ddmac XP OSX TimeMachine Common (ntfs) ddmac After a couple of weeks, the ddmac partition keeps complaining it has errors ( apparently cos osx has tried to write to it I'm informed), so time to get rid My machine currently boots like this 1st screen -chose XP or OSX ( windows dual boot I believe) 2nd screen ( on choosing OSX) offers me to boot from all my partitions, I choose the second one to boot OSX So I read I could remove the ddmac partition, but when I do I get no HFS+ partition, so must have been booting using this. So any help on removing this partition would be good as the error in OSX is annoying Anyway to cut a long story short, it all went wrong, and even replacing the ddmac partition( which I had done before) would not boot my OSX, for some reason when using disk util, it would say my OSX partition wat a NTFS partition, even tho if i booted my backup of osx from my external drive, all the files on it looked good. So I decided to bite the bullet, and try a restore from time machine. After messing trying to do it from the ddmac partition, which wouldn't work I have booted from a dvd and restored my time machine backup. All went well, but when I boot, it goes through the 2 boot screens, goes to the apple screen, the twidle thing twidles, then the machine re boots. Any help would be appreciated. I think its because time machine does backup the boot loader from reading around, but not sure what I need to put it back. TIA |
