Wow, progress is moving at breakneck speed. Big thanks to Mysticus for all of this, plus the people testing his work.
Hopefully I can get an NC10 soon and learn how all of this stuff is done so I can help create an extremely streamlined ISO for the NC10 with as many things working out of the box as possible. The quicker and easier it is to install OS X on the NC10, the better. Then the NC10 can be a real Macbook Nano. |

Anyone tried this (http://s10lenovo.com/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=450)
Seems to be a GMA950 driver with working bightness on the Lenovo S10. Since the netbooks is pretty similar it might be a chance for it to work on the Sammy as well... Beware, some of the people got a bluescreen after installing... |

I registered this forum just to say "Thank You" to you Mysticus C. You have done a wonderful work for us NC10 owners. I have a question regarding your up coming samsungosx86.iso, can I use this guide to install OSX instead of using an external DVD drive because I don't want to buy a new external drive just to install OSX if it works for you why not? lochey: double click speed can be set from system settings... bluetooth is a bit funny... it is connected to an internal usb port, so i dont know an option to disable it, but i know an option to remove the icon... system settings again... after wake up from sleep, i mentioned this, "RIGHT ARROW" key comes up pressed by software... and you will hear a ticking/beeping sound... (like in windows if you hold a key for 3-4 sec, it will beep same thing here...) to fix it just press right arrow key once... if you dont press arrow key, and click on any menu, it will look like things are going crazy... but it is not, it is just arrow key pressed, so menu moving right side very quickly as you are holding down the arrow key headphone switching works with only script + CHUD package installed, programs unfortunately not working at the moment... those will be solved over time.. i will provide the script solution for those interested... usb ports dont work on msi bcoz they dont use correct kernel/system.kext ... it is called mount issue OK HERE IS GOOD NEWS,..... FINALLY I MADE IT... NC10OSX86 WORKING!!!!! IT IS ALIVE... I TESTED IT ON MY COMPUTER, BUT AS SOON AS I GET THE NC10 FROM MY WIFE, I WILL TEST on the NC10 AS WELL... ANYONE WANNA GIVE IT A TRY? PM me, for the testing... |

Hi everyone,
I've succesfully installed OSX using the manual of Mysticus C! Thanks man....really happy with the work you are doing! I also installed the msiwind before this install and am comparing the compatibility. Here is some feedback: * All USB ports and the SD card slot work perfectly, this was not the case with the MSIWind.iso Even after sleeping and waking these work!! * Double click doesn't always work. I notice after the computer sleeps and wakes up the double clicking doesn't work. Occasionaly it does come back after a while or going into the finder etc...does kind of bring it back is my experience. When openig some menu's the OSX outline seems not to be correct. This happens occoasionaly, perhaps after sleeping or just after a while. See the pictures for an example. * The computer does not sleep when you close the cover (see picture). It needs to be put to sleep manually. (this did work with the msiwind.iso... sleeping and waking without any problems) the computer also doens't sleep when it is charging? It will sleep for 2 sec and wake right back up... * When the computer has been put to sleep and wakes back up....and you later on click in the top navigation bar (finder, bluetooth spotlight, help etc.) it will keep jumping to ALL the other menu's instantly and back and forth, rendering you unable to choice a menu. * The sound works good...only the headphone doens't work....even after I installed the extra packages... * Is there the option to turn bluetooth off?..when you click the bluetooth icon on the top bar? My iMac has this option...but can't turn the bluetooth off on my NC-10 (see pictures of the bluetooth option on my iMac and the Sammy. This is my feedback so far! But there is alot of progress and with more testing and feedack we can make the NC-10 hopefully 100% OSX compatible Here are some pics:

Lochey: i answered your questions in previous post... check it...
Anyone with a JAS DVD who wants to test this ppf, PM me... In case some of you do not know what PPF is... it is a patch file. What it does is, takes your original iso file, and makes it into another patched file... In this case, it will take your original JAS ISO, and will make it a Samsung NC10 DVD, that will let you install everything at once and not needing a usb keyb/mouse... hopefully the drivers i used are not the wrong ones OK half way through the INSTALL process... =============================== CHECKLIST =============================== Creating PPF ------------- Success Applying PPF ------------- Success Burning ppf DVD --------- Success Booting ppf DVD --------- Success Installer Started -------- Success Custom OPs working -- Success Installation Finished --- In Progress (~10 mins left Restarting --------------- In Progress Booting ------------------ In Progress Drivers Loaded --------- In Progress |

usb ports dont work on msi bcoz they dont use correct kernel/system.kext ... it is called mount issue Yes..thanks for answering my questions and giving comments on my feedback Mysticus...it was my first time posting a message on this forum..and it kind of went wrong the first time But...considering all the work you are doing and knowing that the msiwind.iso works pretty good on the Sammy..besides the USB mounting due to incorrect kernel/system etc. Wouldn't it be easier to just add or alter the MSIwind.iso to make this even more compatible and just rename this to your liking? I remember using the the MSIwind.iso and the only thing not really working well for it was the USB mounting. Everything else worked pretty good...or am I making a stupid suggestion...I'm a Nooby btw..in all of this! |

i m sure install will be fine, hopefuly drivers will be fine as well... even if it is not, i know how to do it lol, mate i'm sure you can manage to chuck the 10.5.6 combo update some how, you'll work your magic on it for sure, i'm on 74% install right now so not long, i started fully fresh so deleted everything apart from my xp and recovery partition, and created a small partition of 14gb and another of around 50 something gb, and i've not used an external dvd drive, i used that guide mentioned earlier to boot from the hdd, so far so good, up to 80% now going quicker than before lol my progress is as follows Creating PPF ------------- Success Applying PPF ------------- Success Burning ppf sep partition --------- Success Booting ppf sep partition --------- Success Installer Started -------- Success Custom OPs working -- Success Installation Finished --- Success Restarting --------------- In Progress Booting ------------------ In Progress Drivers Loaded --------- In Progress right hit a problem, it maybe because i am using the hdd to install, but doesn't even get pass darwin, i'm gonna upload a pix of it normally and another of it with -v, gonna get my hands on an external dvd drive 2mro and will test it out with that and see how it goes, |

MR_CP, you will have it succeeded, but it wont boot because acpi apic and some other files will be renamed so osx will not load them... i will fix it again... this should not have happened though... but for some funny reason, scripts are still run even while installing... normal order is >>> preflight run, done, files installed, done, postflight run... somehow new installer running them in different order... booting back to my desktop, to fix this quickly... |

Fantastic work! I owe you a pint Mysticus C*.
I should receive my black NC10 during the next week, and I cannot wait to start putting my new "HackBook nano" together; extra memory and new Wi-Fi card are already waiting... Just for a curiosity, how wide is the SAMSUNG logo on the top of the netbook case? Keep up the good work! Btw. are there any other NC10 owners from Finland following this topic? |

are you able to boot -v -x or is it just restarting instantly after initial load of drivers? or how? i was not able to boot with -v -x. it kept on restarting. i reinstalled again, 100% followed your guide step by step - same problem. then i reinstalled and used 9.4.0 kernel instead of 9.5.0 and its working fine! 2 reboots, everything ok! |

Hi guys!
I'm Marco from Italy (sorry about my Eng.) and I'd like to buy a netbook in order to use it with Leopard. I read that in the MSI U100 everything works fine but the battery if bad, isn't it? What about the NC10 in the end? What is the best netbook to use with Leopard, in your opinion, the U100 or the NC10? I don't understand if the LAN card of the NC10 is not supported in Leopard or if it's a sw/driver problem... for me it's very important to get the wired LAN working, does the LAN in U110 works? I can't get the files you post from rapidshare... can you give me some alternative free link please? Many thanks! |
