Me, not yet. If somebody tries, please post the result. Thanks. The Security Update and the Java update work fine with the NC10. You may have to Hard Reset to get the machine to reboot properly, but there are no ill-effects. FWIW, I had the same issue on my Feb 2008 17" MBPro. |

Did anybody notice troubles with AzaliaAudio package? Do you mean shutdown or sleep? I've not had problems with either (when on battery) - but I do get the corrupt Model Name in System Profiler... which I assumed was a 10.5.6 problem. Now I'm wondering if it could be an AppleAzaliaAudio on 10.5.6 probelm... Has anyone attempted to download Apples new security update 2009-001 via the software updater? No problems here (with the installation or reboot)! The other update was to Java - and note that Apple's Java 1.6 binaries are all 64bit, though, and so can't be run on an Atom (N270) processor. Annoyingly, if you erase them completely then Software Manager just wants to reinstall them again. |

No problems here (with the installation or reboot)! After installing AzaliaAudio package I noticed: - corrupt model name in system profile - shutdown *sometimes* didn't work (I don't remember if it was in battery mode or power supply) - sleep working properly With shutdown not working, I mean that I gave the command to shutdown (Apple menu / Shut Down...), then NC10 started the shutdown procedure and at a certain point it just froze, then the only way out was a hard shutdown (keeping power button pressed). The successive reboot was fine, so it seems that the shutdown procedure almost came to the end, but without shutting the power. After unistalling AzaliaAudio package: - everything fine. For me headphones aren't vital, so I'll wait for the final audio drivers... patiently The other update was to Java - and note that Apple's Java 1.6 binaries are all 64bit, though, and so can't be run on an Atom (N270) processor. The previous Java update (Java for Mac OS X 10.5 Update 2) updates: - Java SE 6 to version 1.6.0_07 - J2SE 5.0 to version 1.5.0_16 - J2SE 1.4.2 to 1.4.2_18 The latest update (Java for Mac OS X 10.5 Update 3) generically addresses security and compatibility issues, and requires "Update 2". Are you really sure that "Java Update 3" updates only Java SE 6 (which - I agree - can't run on Atom CPU) and not also J2SE 5 or J2SE 1.4.2? |

Hi all,
I bought a NC10 couple of weeks ago (with 3g). Now I wanted to try out MacOS but the iso isn't at Bike Town anymore. I found a couple other iso's but I'm not sure witch one I should take. And I read, that the one from Bike Town is the best one. Can anyone provide an Emule or Rapidshare link where I can get the iso? |

Has anyone got any ideas on how to change partition sizes without messing a succesful install up?
I have a standard Mysticus style install xp 50gb/osx1 50gb/osx 2 50 gb/ ddmac 5gb. All installed as per Mysticus instructons with darwin bootloader at start up. Now osx is working so well I would like to increase my osx allocation and shrink xp down to maybe 20gb. Not sure how to do this - from windows/ 3rd party software/ from osx ??? Really dont want to have to start whole thing from scatch again if I dont have to. Will I mess up my partiton tables ?? Any advice gratefully received. Thanks for all your collective help getting OSX on the NC10 working - my 12inch powerbook is soon to go on ebay! |

Before I start downloading and spend hours with installing OSX, I would like to know how far it is a problem not changing the wifi card.
I don't want give up my warranty and I guess that's the case when I change the card. So can anyone please tell me what's the problem with the wifi card that comes with the NC10? |

@goodhope
The build in wifi card is not compatible to OSX. Although there is an workaround somwhere in the forum. But it is very unstable. If you don´t need Internet, you shound not have any problems. If you need networking you could buy an OSX compatible USB-WLAN stick or even a USB lan-stick. I don´t think you loose your garaty by changing the card but I am not sure. Hope you unterstand my bad english. gt |

Hello
First I want to say THANKS! your work is awesome and all is very simple now! But i've got a problem. All the installation works perfectly. But after the first restart, mac osX boot, I can see a grey screen with an apple in the center. And juste after that, the computer reboot. Dual boot works perfectly, but I've got that problem with mac osx =/ Sorry for poor english, I'm french. EDIT : okay, that was just the option of EDB in the bios -__- All working great now! =D |

A netbook without Wifi sucks :-). Maybe I change the internal card if I find a changing manual. I believe I saw one nut I can't remember where. Do you know? |

I'm getting a "Still waiting for root device" on my nc10, before getting into the installation menu.
I'm doing the ddmac method, the nc10 is stock besides the 2gb ram (bought last month). Bios settings triple checked, they are the same as the ones in the guide. DDmac probably works fine because drive D: disappears upon reboot (and the installation procedure starts properly until the "still waiting" part). I have 3 primary partitions (recovery, xp, empty for osx) and 3 logical (time machine, reserved space, ddmac). I get the choice of selecting the osx installation during boot, I the choose nc10, osx stuff start loading and I get the "Still waiting for root device" after the trackpad detection routine (if i remember well). On the first try, ddmac's partition wasn't the last one on the disk, so I tried a second time, letting ddmac have the last partition. Same result. It's strange, since this iso should work with the nc10 hardware (i'm using the 10.5.6 nc10 iso). Any suggestions? Apologies if this has been covered, I haven't found anything helpful. |

(well unless you are using some sort of pci-x type of SSD drive found on bottom line series...) because the sata controller in atom based devices uses same intel controller (until nvidia ION platform comes out) so they should all be recognized and have no problem... like i said, first option (-a-) is the most likely, u didnt create a partition for the OSX most likely, or u created wrong partition types! |

Thanks for your reply mysticus. The netbook is an nc10, got it from ebuyer, I'm sure about that. The purchased date stated in the BIOS is 01/2009. The only thing that might have affected the procedure was that I installed win7 on D:. I yesterday deleted the d: partition and restored the boot procedure so that the xp boot.ini was followed. I haven't changed any hardware besides the ram, the hdd is the 160gb one. Here are some screenshots that show my configuration: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Apologies for the blurriness of the last one. |
