You are probably right, but for the time being, I don't really need 7 hours battery lasting... I will have to try via quicksilver... How come we are able to map sound keys and not brightness?? We are able to map brightness keys I think.. it's in the guide. good luck! |

The only solution I found (even if I didn't try it yet) would be to use a Bluetooth mic (the type used with mobile phones). Somebody tried? |

I believe you are correct: skype crashes because there is no mic in the system. you can do as someone else said and get a bluetooth mic, or you could also just get an external usb mic - that should work too. |

Hi,
I installed everything according to the guide but I can not change the brightness. I installed CHUD but I get the message "PCI Device - Host PCI bridge: pci8086,27ac (0:0:0:0) Offset 0xf4 0x00 |0 0 0 0|0 0 0 0|" and the brightness stays the same. Anyone got an Idea? Thx |

hi to everyone!
I have a short question: has anybody used the programm coolbook ( http://www.coolbook.se/CoolBook.html )before on the nc10? It should reduce the fan activity! And i would enjoy this a lot! But i´m not shure if will work with this version of osx? I have read in an other forum, that it works with the msi wind, so maybe with the nc10 too! If you only try the programm you aren´t able to change the settings, but it reads the wright frequency and temperature. Before i spend 10 $ it would be awesome to get some experiences! |

If you disable auto-mode and switch statically to 800Mhz it has no negative effect on system stability. But if you let voodoopower change the frequency according to system load, sound is choppy and sometimes a kernel panic occurs. Actually I found that reducing the CPU speed, does not have a very big effect on temperature and power consumption, but its noticeable and measurable (with mini battery logger). I get 30 to 45 minutes more when clocked to 800MHz. |

But can you describe me, how i can change the clockspeed with the kext manually? |

Hey ppl,
Got installation problem. I've got a USB optical drive, I started installation wid mysticus 10.5.6 Completed installation and restarted. But bootloader screen wont load up! Do I have to change the boot device priority?after mac installation? I think page no 78 of installation guide is very confusing. (I just made 2 Drives, 1 with winXP 2nd on which I installed OS X boot settings matched like,Is that a problem) Can anyone please guide me a bit on Optical Drive setup process?? |

(I'd lke to try it) I select a specific frequency by disabling the "Auto" mode at the right time. In auto it constantly changes from 800Mhz to 1600Mhz and back, if you go to manual mode in a moment when it is at 800, it will stay at 800. The Tool is here: http://www.superhai.com/files/leopard/rele...PUPMControl.zip With a small patch this should be possible via Info.plist of the voodoopower.kext too. |

Have you tried starting up with F8 pressed down? Does it just boot up xp or leave you with a message and not boot at all? Did you also select the custom install method when installing? |

After installation, if I remember correctly, the computer restarts and should then boot from the HD and complete the setup process... I did also the installation using an external DVD reader (successfully) .... I had some minor troubles... unfortunately I don't remember exactly how I solved them. |

I believe he is talking about disabling Tstate in the kext's Info.plist. You can find the discussion here: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...t&p=1059568 I’m trying this right now and it does seem to work. No more kernel panics so far. The issue with sleep not working with the voodoopower.kext remains though. My NC10 still immediately wakes up right after going to sleep… I don't have this issue with the standard powermanagment kext. Here are the relevant log entries – note that I have no external USB devices attached. CODE 2/6/09 11:32:58 AM kernel System Sleep 2/6/09 11:33:04 AM aosnotifyd[140] Stream:streamCallback - an error occurred on CFReadStream: Operation could not be completed. That´s what is changed! I got the new kext from here: http://forums.msiwind.net/mac/good-news-sp...-t4932-120.html And till now it is working very good, although the fan activty is nearly the same! |

I have been using coolbook.Actually i did undervolting with this 1596 MHZ runs stable with 1.0125 volts(default is 1.2),as determined by cpu test package from coolbook website. This resulted in slightly prolonged battery life and lower cpu temp(39 c) im in ireland.Fan sound also reduced.
