What you will need for temporary audio solution till voodoo hda kext comes out.
chud tools (on Mysticus C's Bike Town site or Apple) azalia driver (http://www.mediafire.com/?enez1guzz1g) and the switch.sh script (http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?act...st&id=37873) thanks real rooster Process. Install chud tools install azalia driver (it will back up your applehda.kext) then open terminal application drop the switch.sh onto terminal window then hit return it will ask for password go ahead and enter password hit return it will show some sort of processing then say switching to HP (for headphones) when its complete you are all set. to go back to speakers open terminal application again drop the switch.sh onto a terminal window hit return it will once again ask for password hit return it will run some sort of process and say switching to SK or SP i forget (which means speaker) done. you will have to do that every time unless you use something called spark to set it to some sort of Fn button like f7 i was hoping to make it a automator app but I dont have time also settings doesn't technically save after restart/reboot... you have to run the script twice once to go fom HP to SP... (even though it is set for HP still comes out SP, then run the script again to go from SP to HP and it will once again play through HP) You guys gave me an idea. every time you post something saying I got xyz to work... also post what you did and what you needed. And people can comment and add to it, etc. If you find your self asking what is terminal app, or if this explanation seems a lil over your head, please do not attempt this at home. Please direct all your questions in the forum if you have trouble. And like all things YMMV |

Sounds like switch.sh is just a shell script (sh,bash, etc) In OS X you can name it .command rather then .sh and it will run it through terminal for you. Could also add a hot key, etc.

bios is f2 on boot, hope that melps!
just thought I would mention something that is on the msiwind forum in different places, that there are some apps that have a fixed minimum screen height (prefs, imovie, osx86tools) you can change the pref files to shrink the windows to fit the nc10s 600 high screen, the terminal command is: defaults write com.apple.systempreferences AppleDisplayScaleFactor .85 defaults write com.pcwiz.OSX86Tools AppleDisplayScaleFactor .85 defaults write com.apple.photobooth AppleDisplayScaleFactor .85 defaults write com.apple.imovie7 AppleDisplayScaleFactor .85 I hope that helps a lot of people and you can apply it to any app and scale with any number, to return the app to standard you just set the last number to 1 Also many thanks to Mysticus for a well put together package, I have a patched dvd image which may well find its way onto usenet in the next few days once I have sorted out the par files! |

Hi, I have just received a DELL 1490 wireless card. I took the machine apart, installed it exactly as existing card was and... nothing. Windows doesnt find any new hardware and the little 'fn-F9' icon blue light is never on the front of the machine. I have tried moving the 2 (aerial?) cable, but nothing. Windows thinks I have no wireless card at all. Is it dead? did you get it from this seller by any chance? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/dell-dw1490-broadcom...A1%7C240%3A1318 I'm having the same problem; On mine says "Made in China" (NOT Taiwan) and on the front sticker says "DW 1490 DP/N 0JC977" The small print on the back of the PCB (where the lead (Pb) free sign is) says BCM94311MCAGD REV B GP. Let's see if it's the same (defective) batch. |

Hello to all,
I know this is offtopic but I wonder if somebody could help me with my problem. I am currently trying to open my NC10 to replace the WiFi card, but I seem to be having trouble taken out some of the screws, does anybody know where I can get a standard phillips screwdriver that will allow me to open it? Does anybody know what size of screwdriver I should get to make the job possible? I have been using a jewellers screwdriver but they are very hard to grip. Please can somebody advise me. Thank you for your time All the best NSCXP2005 |

NSCXP2005 - i had the same problem on few screws. All i did was to press really really hard when i turn the screw. you might need something like a cloth in your palm when you do it.

Hi all,
Does anybody have installed the ALPS trackpad driver and ffscroll on the NC10? I would like to see if the trackpad scroll works correctly with ffscroll but when I try to install the ALPS driver, my trackpad is not recognized anymore. I followed this guide that someone posted on this thread some time ago: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...2+finger+scroll |

borelli: i will take a look at your app, and will let you know how to add the pass into the keychain and therefore like the brightness script it will ask the pass for once the first time run, and than it will read it from keychain!

That would be great Mysticus. I have no knowledge of this stuff whatsoever!!! I just put the script into Platypus with an icon so it was streamlined and easier. No password would make the process even more simple.

i will try to make the script with the keychain pass access tomorrow, if u are desperate u can take a look at the scripts for brightness increase and decrease, you will find how it is added to keychain, and you can change the script part and the names in the scripts so it does not duplicate the previous settings...
also will make a video of the touchscreen usage and hopefully guide with pics and instructions on how to add the touchscreen... |

@ kiezbengel You can download the german language file and install it. @giliathstod thank you, now everything is fine with the systems language ! :-) @ everybody having a clue :-) 1. Does really no one have an idea how to get the automatic(energy configuration) sleep working ? ( like after 10min of inactivity) 2. About the interesting keychain discussion: Any idea if i can get kismac to read the password from the keychain as well ?( I have to start on every reboot in order to get wifi working) 3. I found the clamshell.kext from superhai to get sleep on lid closing. It works but.... Now after a system startup I have to go once in sleep and resume to get osx working fine. If I don´t it´s incredible slow. I deleted clamshell.kext and rebooted(always with f flag due to wifi issue) but curiously the problem remains. Someone experienced that and has an idea how to solve ? edit: the "slow system" problem only is there when on battery(also booting on dc and then switching to only battery does the same, once sleped and resumed its okay -- really weird to me. Possible that hast to do with CPU Power Managment ? Till |

we are not on a real mac!
people are forgetting the very basics, things have been told million times being asked again and again... you will not get perfect OS X running, with every single function and key as in windows... original wifi is troublesome, just shell 10-15 bucks and get a 100% working wifi... and no trouble... clamshell or whatever kext will not work well for display being closed or not, unless a modified bios or dsdt made(since dsdt is software based after boot it may also have trouble, i didnt have a chance to try yet) patch... same with the sleep issues... |
