install chud package from nc10 files section first and brightness icon update after that follow the guide to make scripts work... if you dont install chud, scripts wont work! installed CHUD, rebooted ... deleted my password for brightness control from the keychain. I've just re-installed the brightness package and deleted and re-added the triggers in Quicksilver. Pressing Windows + Down I see the new icon, but it's hanging there ... no prompt for password, no change in brightness. |

Thanks for the link. Looks like that won't work for version 4. I might try it anyway if VMware fusion doesn't work. That's my next step, try to make Windows XP run under VMware fusion. BTW, while Windows was running under virtualbox I found the speed to be acceptable. Quite remarkable for such a low-powered system like the NC10. I can report success. I'm posting this reply to my own post using Google Chrome under Windows XP. VMware Fusion works very well on the NC10. Speed is nothing great but acceptable if you just need to boot windows once in a while. |

Pressing Windows + Down I see the new icon, but it's hanging there ... no prompt for password, no change in brightness. do you have one of the patched framebuffer drivers (this is the first step in order for the scripts to work, patched fb driver allows brightness controll manually) or you are just using your own version of mixture of drivers? also what version of distro are you using? bcoz you are very new user and i dont wanna be pissed at you for not providing any information and wasting people's time bcoz of using everything you grabbed from here and there, and asking for help for your own mixture of soup... the very reason i made this topic to unite people to use similar packages and files in order to cut down errors and debugging user errors, if you dont have any experience, and still using some other distro other than nc10 osx, it will be a huge pain in the a$$ for anyone who tries to help you... the reason is that you may have completely messedup your system with so many different packages and files installed by the distro you are using or your own mess... i still provide seperate files and packages for people with knowledge/experience that they know what they are doing... unfortunatelly i dont like to debug other distro users' errors bcoz of so many factors involved in these processes... so once again, i m just warning you! provide all the information about what you have in your system, and what additional stuffs have u done, without making people to ask you one at a time, provide them all!!! else you will start getting some harsh words, because my patience is running out at people just coming up to topic and not reading anything and jumping to last page to stat wasting space and not providing any information but asking question... |

I sincerely appreciate both your patience and help! I'm using your iso file which was for 10.5.5 and I updated my system to 10.5.6. The system is the stock NC10 though I've updated the RAM to 2GB and have the drive partitioned a bit differently. I have 4 partitions - Win7, XP, OSX and an open one which is where the ISO was loading from ... No special drivers other than your stuff from bike town. |

tutti: can you try -v -f boot at start? i may be wrong, and may need to change the installer for once more, because of the funny behaviour of the kextcache watching mechanism in leo. I didnt make the caches to be deleted, therefore it may be not be getting effective after restart because leo first uses kextcaches for quick boot, and if it is not updated, it will not load new changes how? at boot screen counter when you choose your os x partition, press f8, and it brings selection window, and over there using arrow keys, bring the selection to your current osx partition, and type -v -f and than press enter you will see bunch of text flying, and hopefully this should solve the problems! NOTE: I have now added the fixed bluetooth and airport fixes with cache removal and therefore it will ensure to reload new edited drivers upon restart! it worked!! thanks a lot Mysticus C*! |

Is there a way to get speedstep working? I found this info (http://forums.msiwind.net/mac/experimental-intel-speedstep-kext-t2479.html.) about someone running this kext on their MSI WIND and they were able to select frequencies. I imagine this kext would work correctly with the nc10, given that they are both very similar. any thoughts? I originally installed superhais latest voodoopower, but it made my machine unstable - random crashes and audio stuttering. I've now gone back to its previous incarnation, GenericCPUPowerManagement, dated mid December and that seems to work fine - no crashes so far. [Edit] Actually... just had a couple of kernel panics, so think that GCPUPM is also flawed. |

That's no problem, but after that you need to apply the NC10 10.5.6 Driver Package or if you prefer you can also use the older one. confirmed and re-applied the update ... still freezing on brightness commands. argh .... seems to be the one thing I can't get going and of course the one I want the most! |

confirmed and re-applied the update ... still freezing on brightness commands. argh .... seems to be the one thing I can't get going and of course the one I want the most! the only good advice i can give you is get the latest 10.5.6 iso if you dont have jas 10.5.4 iso, if you jas 10.5.4 iso, grab the ppf, and apply, you will get 10.5.6.... and reinstall evertyhing, bcoz i m most definetely sure you messed up some other things as well in your system, everyone else seems to get it work but you... jifop: i m not sure why you lost your sound, but guess, you didnt enable speaker in sound settings yet camden: mate, dont bother using pm drivers, using bluetooth off, and brightness control gives 5.5-6 hours battery life... so no trouble in there, although good to have pm, however having constant trouble doesnt worth it... |

hi everyone.
I'll keep it short; I will be getting my NC10 in the mail in a few days, along with 2GB of ram and a new wifi card. It will be my first time experimenting with OSX86, I'm looking forward to it. But words cannot describe how hard it was to get my hands on a NC10 10.5.6 ISO (even the PPF patch was impossible to find). The only working link was a 20 part rar file hosted on Shragle. I decided to save myself and others who were looking for the ISO the trouble. I purchased a premium account on the site, downloaded the 20 files and got the ISO. I will upload it to Demonoid, recompressed to get rid of the password. I hope this will help everyone else who struggled. The file is: NC10_JaS.OSx86.10.5.6.Intel.SSE2.SSE3_Mysticus.iso from the archive: NC10Jax861056InE23_myst.partXX.rar Before I upload it I am worried about something: I checked the MD5 checksum of the above iso with this one "MD5 of the new iso after ppf: 766E0A44E0E55CCCCB4942DBD3FC3D87" from http://mysticus.titanous.com/update.html Are they supposed to match? At the LAST file to download, firefox did not "end" the transfer when it was done (200mb of 200mb) and the speed of the download was frozen at ~100kb/s. I proceeded to extract the file with no error. Anyway, I do to want to waste anyone's time by uploading a corrupt file, so if someone can indicate if these checksums were supposed to match, it would be much appreciated. Please reply ASAP so I can sort these matters out and start seeding the torrent. Thank You. edit: here is the MD5 of the ISO (I am currently redownloading all the .rars i foolishly deleted, just in case.) ac37a67c09270b4c1aad43db9afdb9f9 |

md5 of the 10.5.6 iso is 766E0A44E0E55CCCCB4942DBD3FC3D87 it is not make sure you don't seed something corrupt! That's exactly what I'm doing, thanks for clearing things up! Will upload a torrent as soon as possible. (After checking the MD5, of course) Update: Demonoid link: http://www.demonoid.com/files/details/1764...?rel=1232234868 Uncompressed ISO, that way anyone can help seed without needing to redownload it. Anyone who sees this message and has the NC10 10.5.6 ISO should help, it's very hard to find for people who don't have it yet. To help seed, make a new folder called "NC10_JaS.OSx86.10.5.6.Mysticus" and place your NC10 10.5.6 ISO in that folder, make sure your iso is named "NC10_JaS.OSx86.10.5.6.Intel.SSE2.SSE3_Mysticus.iso". Download the torrent from demonoid and point it to the parent folder of "NC10_JaS.OSx86.10.5.6.Mysticus", it will check the data and start seeding. Thank you to anyone who helps! Big thanks to Jas and Mysticus! Can't wait to try this on my NC10 |

thanx for the link, but u should not have posted in public...
also you messed up the process as well, bcoz people will have to redownload everything, bcoz nothing will match to the original torrent either (people who were downloading the original torrrent which is cut off will be gone forever....) only people who downloaded and finished can join the seed wagon... |
