ricpersi: please leave it as it is... because it is easier for me to control files from one location... having it mirrored to other places will make me do additional work on changing things... i have MU account and thinking of mirroring already, i have even direct link with no waiting, but these take up more bandwidth and having more mirror slows down the process... Yep, you're right.. having to update the guide multiple times, one for each mirror, is a bit frustrating.. that's why I asked you first.. I'm pretty happy with rapishare since i don't use it that much, so that's not a big deal.. Regards, Riccardo I chose to use MSI windows because everything except the lan and mic works OTB. No weird partitioning of drives needed either! We need an NC10+MSI install package. Do you know where the people who compiled the MSI iso "hang out"? Hi Pezmc, I think you can find them at forums.msiwind.net |

I chose to use MSI windows because everything except the lan and mic works OTB. No weird partitioning of drives needed either! We need an NC10+MSI install package. Do you know where the people who compiled the MSI iso "hang out"? it is not nice of you to say things like "weird partitioning" or everything except bla bla bla works OTB... weird partitioning part is completely not understood, and probably will no be appreciated until i finish the clone guide and you start using the osx as long as i did! You just dont seem to understand! In the guide i already mentioning if you have doubts you can ask questions about it! I usually write my guides not for one day use! Well of course if your intention is for short term, that is different story. You only need to install osx once... and once my guide is completely finished, you will see why you would not need to worry about bricking osx with those weird partitioning! The choice of doing things differently is up to person's expectations. You are welcomed to use anything else for your liking, but that doesnt make your decision to say not nice things about other recommendations before you even know what it is! I m here to help people as well, nc10 is a fun project and will evolve over time and not over night... Sometimes too much convenience cause trouble in people's learning and their systems. Another thing is that you dont need nc10+msi package! NC10 has to be separate due to the update procedure not the install... which you dont seem to understand the process of what is going on in the background of all these said things... If you prefer short term convenience over long term pleasure that is your choice, but i dont like people to say bad things about what i do when they dont even know what i do them for... I do things for long term and make it as noob friendly as possible, not for one person's liking and one off fun... |

Mysticus C*, of course you're right.. you're doing some great work and we can just thank you for all your efforts.
I agree we don't need windosx86 iso but it would be nice to have internal keyboard working since I don't have a usb keyboard lying around. Do you think it would be hard to add this feature? I'd be glad to be of some help but I'm new to osx86.. anyway I'll have a look and see if I can contribute to this project. regards, riccardo |

GOOD NEWS>>>
i figured out how to add custom packages to a dvd... will make a ppf for Jas, not the msiwind (this complicates things as it is using boot132) i will test it and release the ppf, for people who has Jas DVD... so you will not need to use a usb keyb/mouse... and all the drivers that will install will work OTB as well... but you will still need to use NC10 packages for updates so that you can retain drivers back... Note: I will strip down the Jas release to only necessary choices that are needed for NC10... i hope everyone is ok with it... |

hi, i am having trouble installing the whole thing
i downloaded jas and did everything (twice meanwhile) exactly as you wrote in the pdf-guide. after i installed the 10.5.5 update (without restart) i installed the drivers + stage 3 and then did the restart. the machine keeps on restarting over and over, the apple logo appears for a second. when i start with -s -v i get some text stuff but i cant read it because its to fast. it seems that its reacting exactly as the msiwind installer iso. (i am 100% sure that i am using the jas.) on my 2nd attend i added an extra restart after installing stage1 (as you suggested on the biketown page), still the same |

sound switch for audiee doesnt work confirmed, most likely when i tested it i was using script.sh as well, so script.sh was providing the sound most likely... script.sh is working fine for switching audio, but not the applications... they are probably specific to those in msiwind.. I've downloaded and tried a 'switch.sh.zip' script - but this also didn't succeed in switching audio to the headphones... it just made the speaker output much less loud when switched. If anyone has a working sound-switching solution, even if it is a script, please let me know of a download location! for your sleep mouse issue: i explained it! right arrow key wakes up pressed by software/driver dunno why, but just press right arrow key once, it goes away... if you know a better driver (appleps2controller) let me know so i can include it... I'll send you the one I have (from boot-132), since this doesn't have any post-resume problems. for brightness: http://www.charcoaldesign.co.uk/shades which i will include in next package revision... shades will make the screen appear less bright by applying a CoreImage filter, but it won't actually reduce the LED brightness and so won't increase battery life at all. Ideally, we'd discover some way to really alter the backlight brightness. (There is obviously some mechanism to achieve this, because if booted on batteries the backlight will switch to full brightness as OSX starts... we just need to reverse this) |

you must have done something wrong... i did the guide as i install and run everything... every step... so you are doing one of the steps wrong... that is what i thought, so i gave it a 2nd try :/ boot using -v to see if you can catch any error? there is no error that i can see, no yellow text as on the msi-error. i tried to make a photo, but the iphone quality is way to bad... is there an option to stop instead of rebooting? also what options did you choose? customize section... exactly the options that you described in the guide. do you want me to copy any files (with the help of hfsexplorer) ? |

srcshelton: appreciate it if you can send me the file quickly, because i m making a ppf right now, and was almost assembling everything together... waiting for your file...
yoursxs: explain exactly what is happening... and what happened? i m asking this because majority of the newbies, says they do everything right, but they usually give misleading information as they miss some of the things... i have installed the jas exactly i explained over the guide... nothing more nothing less... it should have worked... so down to some reasons by your side, it has some either wrong choice or wrong order of steps... did you read my guide in one part, that i explain bootloader error!, so you need to use dvd or boot into xp to enable the active partition as well...? |

This may be a n00bish question, but I did the whole install and it works like a dream. One thing I noticed though is I don't get any of the multi-touch stuff with the touchpad. Should I look for synaptic drivers for mac, or is there something else I need to do to get this working (if it can at all)?

Should I look for synaptic drivers for mac, or is there something else I need to do to get this working (if it can at all)? i m not sure anyone tried multi-touch capability with the netbooks yet (you can do it in xp though) one reason not to use it is touchpad is way too small to accommodate multi-touch gestures! even if you fit your fingers, it will not be very comfortable moving around in the tiniest space possible... i m not saying you should not try to or it will not work... it just wont be comfortable to use... |

yoursxs: explain exactly what is happening... and what happened? installation went fine, i created my user account and i continued on page 104 till the end. as i said before, i have not done a restarted after the combo update, i left the window open and installed the driver + stage3 of your installer. then i have chosen to restart the system. thats it. i m asking this because majority of the newbies, says they do everything right, but they usually give misleading information as they miss some of the things... i am a coder, so i know what you are talking about, that is why i've done it the way you wrote it in the guide. could it be because i do have the german nc10? could it be that it has a different bios ? my bios is 02ca as well as micom version. + i do have 2 gb of memory. did you read my guide in one part, that i explain bootloader error!, so you need to use dvd or boot into xp to enable the active partition as well...? yes i did that. when tried it the 2nd time i was not able to activate the partition anymore (i guess it was still active) |

yoursxs:
you did 3 stages right? first run nc10 once with only stage 1 option, when finished, just closed the window? official update, not restarted, just minimized? run the nc10 again, with the shown options in the guide? and finally restarted? correct? (also bios settings correct?) if everything done correct it should have worked, i doubt that the bios revision will have any effect at the moment, since you are able to install it and boot to desktop, showing no problem... i m just saying, that you may have missed something earlier, in blink of an eye? would u mind reinstalling? |
