Mysticus or any other non-noob folks posting here -
Has anyone tried using Taruga's HDA Patch as discussed elsewhere on the insanely mac forum to get full sound working on their NC10? Some have claimed that it even works for 10.5.5. I'm considering experimenting, but I'm still a noob myself and am worried about bricking my system. |

Sorry if I ask this, but I guess my English isn't good enough to get it. I'd like to buy a NC10 German Edition.
Do I understand it correct that... - USB works - Wifi works now without replacing the card - Bluetooth works - Speaker works - Headphone Jack works |

How does the original internal wifi card work?
How does the Headphone jacket work? I have installed the mysticus Iso but these things do not work. |

Read the thread before posting. I have to concur, so far as I'm aware: * The stock Wifi card can be hacked into a semblance of working, but it's complex and certainly not user-friendly. For all intents and purposes, stock Wifi doesn't work. * Although there's promise of a forthcoming driver (ported from a *BSD?), the current best (only?) audio option for the NC10 is the hacked AppleAzaliaAudio.kext, which provides working sound through the built-in speakers only. The headphone jack is not working, even with tools such as Audieee which have been able to poke the hardware the switch inputs on different netbooks with different audio codecs. Please let me know if my understanding is incorrect. A quick word on "Read the thread" posts: This thread is now over 50 pages long, and much knowledge is buried (lost?) within it. I've read every post, and even I can't remember the exact state of some things. Additionally, in this case, the parent poster was responding to an earlier message where it was claimed that the stock Wifi card and headphone jack do work - which I, at least, believe to be inaccurate. If all you're going to say is "Read the thread" then please refrain from doing so, in the process avoiding adding even more noise to the thread. Even a little context - "These are not working, read the thread for details" or "These are now working, please look around the 40th pages for more details" would be immensely helpful. At the very least, please ensure that you're not lambasting someone for correcting a previous miscomprehension. Cheers, Stuart |

Andy, Two things: 1. Can you tell us what system you're running (e.g., are you up to 10.5.6 and with which distro/install?); 2. Please keep us posted on how it goes in terms of battery, etc. If it improves the functioning then we'll all probably try it. Voodoopower works fine for me. I'm using a msiwindosx patched with Mysticus C*'s NC10 installier. - USB works - Wifi works now without replacing the card - Bluetooth works - Speaker works - Headphone Jack works Hi goodhope let me help out in german real quick: * USB geht * Damit WiFi geht, besorg Dir eine Dell WLAN Karte oder such auf eBay nach BCM4311. Gruss, jay zee How about a 'state of the NC10' article? read article #1 from Mysticus C* - or build one yourself |

I need help with EXT VGA. If I select Mirror mode (clone desktop) I had very bad artifact with the latest package... The old package was good with this option... Why? How I can fix the problem?
Thanks |

@Leonardo
I had the same problem. Solution: go with the mouse on the monitor Then plugin the external monitor. You won´t be able to see anything but go down with the mouse a bit an klick. You will need some try´s. I think disable clone mode is the second task. (clone desktop isn´t possible at the moment) |

Cheers, Stuart I understand your point, but, it's not about i'm or someone else is too tired in answering already answered questions. First, everyone can use at least google and type "insanelymac nc10 + problem/question". By this way you will find the answer. If we don't stop answering answered questions, people won't stop asking these questions. And yes, this thread is over 56 pages now. But I guess, we could have saved at least 5 pages if there weren't theres already answered questions. Sometimes I think many people don't know how to use a forum. let me help out in german real quick: * USB geht * Damit WiFi geht, besorg Dir eine Dell WLAN Karte oder such auf eBay nach BCM4311. This is an english thread and it's hard for the others who just speak english to follow answers in foreign languages. Don't get me wrong as I'm german, too. I often thought when writing with another german guy here that it would be much easier writing in german. But it's really hard for nearly all other members to follow your post, even if it's just the answer for one specific person. In this case, please use private messages or start a german thread. BCM4321 (draft-n) is also working in the nc10 (for people who want to upgrate to 300mbit, as 100mbit lan isnt working) |

Hi everyone,
first of all thanks to Mysticus and everyone who contributed to this thread, really resourceful reading. Especially the guide is really fantastic. but, it seems that I'm doomed nevertheless... I don't know why but after installing the patched iso retrieved via http using the ddmac method I can't start OSX. I've got no problem whatsoever during the installation. everything is set up according the userguide. the boout hang up with the white screen and apple logo. the rotating thingy (can't find a better name...) under the logo keeps on turning but nothing happen. I tried booting using -v it seems that the booting process stop after the local name not found messages CheckList: EDB enabled in my bios MD5 checked tried as well by doing the DVD method, same results Tried with or without usb mouse and keyboard hooked up, same results My Configuration : BLACK UK NC10 NC10_JaS.OSx86.10.5.6.Intel.SSE2.SSE3_Mysticus BIOS 03CA 1390 wifi card 500Gb Western digital HD Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm getting crazy... |

Did you try to boot into XP already?
Also you can try to boot into the samsung recovery solution. Press F4 while the blue samsung screen at start up shows up. After boot into recovery is done, just quit and restart into osx. Did you check the MD5 of the ISO? |

The headphone jack is not working, even with tools such as Audieee which have been able to poke the hardware the switch inputs on different netbooks with different audio codecs. Headphone to speaker switching works on the NC10 via the switch.ch scripts that are floating around on the net. The MSI Wind version does not work b/c the Device IDs needed to be modified. I have the simple Sound Switch application working perfectly on my NC10 -- same as it was on my previous Wind. Audieee could probably be made to work with the same type of DeviceID changes, but that is not my area of expertise. I am more than happy to wait for the Voodoo kext to be tested and released. |
