Just noticed that Superhai's Voodoopower (The replacement for GenericCPUPowerManagement) supposedly supports the Atom. Has anybody tried it on their NC10?
Andy. |

Answering my own question... installed it and it seems to work fine... CPU varies between 797MHz and full speed depending upon load. wonder how much it will affect battery life? |

Can you tell us what system you're running (e.g., are you up to 10.5.6 and with which distro/install?); 2. Please keep us posted on how it goes in terms of battery, etc. If it improves the functioning then we'll all probably try it. |

I'm on Mysticus's 10.5.6, installed from the pre built image that was doing the rounds on demonoid. My usage patterns of the NC10 vary very much, so unless it really is a radical change I'm not sure how obvious any improvements will be. Installation was dead simple - just dropped the kext into kexthelper and rebooted I'll give it a full charge, and turn the brightness to lowest, and see how long the system reports it can run for. |

Ok just a lil sidestep in my usage, problems and stuff i want.
I was noticing in my network prefs that the wifi or airport was labeled as Bluetooth PAN so I changed the name of it to Airport and deleted the second instance of airport underneath it. (big mistake). it disconnected and then I had no airport so I made another airport instance and was able to get airport back but now it said airport not configured even though I was conencted to internet. So the icon in the menu bar looked as if I wasnt connected. So luckily like mysticus said keep a backup. I found my system configuration folder swaped them out and was back to normal. renamed the bluetoothPAN to Airport Main and left the remaining ones untouched. Not sure if anybody else has a similar settings. But be careful with your network prefs.. i have a dell 1505 it shows up as a third party adapter those who have a native airport controller will have no problems i think... otherwise the dell 1505 works OOTB... I am just a stickler i was bored and had to play with the settings. is there something I can edit so that it doesnt show up as third party adapter? Ok, so here is some things i was researching not sure if I should do it you can edit it somethings so that when you go to about this mac it shows your processor name (instead of unknown) and your serial if you type them in manually) anybody do that? Also if you have other macs...if you look in any finder window and you see your samsung nc10 connected it shows the icon as iMac instead of a laptop icon under the shared category... Anybody know how to edit this. I want it to show a laptop icon. I know who cares right. but I want the conversion to be complete. Also did anybody have sound via headphones I still cant get it to work thanks |

Superhai's powermanagement kext works!
To add a nice touch to your 'about this Mac' screen: open /System -> Library -> CoreServices -> loginwindow.app -> Contents -> Resources -> English.lproj -> AboutThisMac.strings. Look for this line: "ABOUT_BOX_SINGLE_PROCESSOR_FIELD_FORMAT" = "%@". Change "%@" to "1.6 GHz Intel Atom" or something you like. You might have to edit permissions before saving the file.

Strange... Been using it here for over an hour now and it seems fine so far. I'll see how it goes for me. Just experienced a lockup myself. Seems to be related to audio and the new voodoopower as since installed it sounds seem to stutter... The crash seemed to happen when the machine was playing a system sound. Bah! |

How about a 'state of the NC10' article?
Im about to buy one here in china, but i want to make sure it will run X (otherwise ill buy the MSI wind), and do it easily. I dont mind shelling out a few extra bucks for a dell card, but it would be awesome if someone put all the info in one place (maybe a wiki article?). Cheers, fotoflo |

After installing a dell 1490 I too encountered the bluetooth pan problem. I deleted all connections and used the Assist Me dialog, found at the bottom of network preferences, to setup the connection and ever since it's been coming up as airport and showing status in the menu bar. Bluetooth pan... not connected.
Try it yourself. I dont mind shelling out a few extra bucks for a dell card, but it would be awesome if someone put all the info in one place (maybe a wiki article?). Try the first post. |

Absolutely no seeders to iso torrent Demonoid said the owner deleted the torrent What to do????? The user has the file not deleted. Demonoid deleted the NC10_JaS.OSx86.10.5.6.Intel.SSE2.SSE3_Mysticus.iso File because it was a password-protected. Please use the http link @ BIKE TOWN . |
