[Guide] Asus IPIBL-LB G33 Intel Chipset, Using Default Vanilla Kernel |
Welcome to the Genius Bar. Here's how this forum works:
1. Members are encouraged to make a guide that details something that they might have found troubling or challenging.
Chances are, if you've seen the same question asked over and over again, you should write a guide for it.
2. This is not the forum for asking questions. If you have a question about a thread that's already here, feel free to ask it.
Just don't start a thread for a specific question. Use the other forums here for that.
3. Posting links to off-site tutorials is not allowed.
4. That's it! Thanks for sharing your information with the rest of us. :)
To keep this forum clean this forum is moderated. You can post in existing topics but new ones will have to be approved before they show up.

Good Morning Everyone.
i am bash. and i love Mac. XD (but can't afford it XD) I assume that there is a lot of HP Owners out there that have an HP Pavillion or another Series by HP. So i have an HP Pavillion A6345F which comes with the following Specs. Specs: Processor: Intel Q6600 @ 2.4GHz (x4) Hard Drive: 400GB Hard Drive Graphics Card: XFX nVidia 8800GT 512MB RAM: 3GB of DDR2 Motherboard: Asus IPIBL-LB (G33 Intel Chipset) To install Mac OS X i used iDeneb 1.3 (10.5.5) just search for iDeneb 1.3 in google or your favourite Torrent website. Since all the other ones gave me an ODD Kernel Panic about some Plugin Family thing. before you format anything follow these steps. (Must Have Windows) BIOS To make this Mac OS X See all the cores and without using CODE cpus=1 or any other options you need to flash your BIOS with a modded one. BIOS V5.17 To apply this Bios you need to use a program called Afuwin which you can download Here NOTE: MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE SAME MOTHERBOARD. It does not work on an IPIBL-LA. Just load the .MOD file from the first download using Afuwin and flash. You can also try cpus=1 if you don't want to break anything After everything is installed and done. Make a partition for your Mac OS X if you don't want to format the whole drive. Installation To Install after you did the above changes or used cpus=1 in customize installation pick some of the following.
Grapics Card: X3100 (i think, i used NVInject for 512MB since i have an 8800GT) Kernel: Don't pick any. Network: None Works out of the box Dual Boot iDeneb will auto Dual Boot with any other installation. so no need to do anything related to dual booting. Hope it helps. and im gonna add a Picture of my System later on. |

OK THE BEST AT THE END:
WOOOOOOOOOOOW: I did the BOOT-132 method! What? yes. retail-dvd install. i burned the boot-132.iso on a cd... bootet the pc and grub comes up, then i put the retail (UNPATCHED!!!) dvd from my Macbook Pro in to my computer and bootet. Installation on GPT-Partition-Table of course... Installation finished without any problem. ok, i am on 10.5.0 now i installed the efi-bootloader so i now can boot in my fresh leopard without the boot-132 cd... ok the coooolest part about retail-installation: -- i started software-update... and upgraded to 10.5.6 ...reboot... wooohoo. it works. with efi installed you have to put your kexts on to the efi-partition... under /volumes/efi/extensions.... ---------- >>> for AUDIO and NVINJECT it didnt work for me. i had to install the kexts on /System/Library/Extensions... (i took the pkg's from the ideneb-DVD: ACL888 and nvinject256mb for my nvidia) reboot, works tip: make a second partition and install carbon copy cloner. make backups of your installation to the second partition. with the dvd you can boot if something goes wrong and you can restore of it... much much much faster than new install |

I have a m9150f and in the works of getting retail setup on it. I can't get the retail disk booted without using a modded bios with boot-132. I've finished the install with the mod and now have to setup chameleon EFI partition and install required kext. Thats going to be a challenge in itself since im very new to apple/mac/os x Any help with information on the above would greatly be appericated. |

i don't know. i still have the modded bios. but i have sometimes problems with shutdown/reboot... which kext is causing that? I believe this is an issue with the 5.32 bios and shutdown. I used 5.17 with iAtkos before and shutdown/restart worked fine with this fix http://www.mediafire.com/file/zzmljaohrhz/...pIssueFixed.zip I haven't started stetting up my retail install yet. |

Hey guys!
My Mobo is IPIBL-LB Rev 1.01 in Compaq Presario SR5329DE. I'm looking forward to flashing my BIOS to the modded one as well. But if I try, AFUWIN detects a CMOS layout difference between system ROM and ROM file and recommends to programm boot block as well. Is this normal? I don't know if I should proceed. I'm afraid I might damage my CMOS. What do you think? |

Nevermind. I flashed all blocks and now my Compaq is an HP, but all 4 cores work.

Hello,
since 24 hours i'm trying to install Snow Leopard Retail. It doesn't work QUOTE panic(cpu 0 caller 0xffffff80002bfb6f): "Should have 2 Threads, but only found 3 for Die 1"@/SourceCache/xnu/xnu-1456.1.25/osfmk/i386/cpu_threads.c:1131 ARGH! My System Specs ("HP Pavilion a6659de"): - Asus IPIBL-B Mainboard - Intel Core2 Quad Q8200 @ 2.33 GHz - 8 gigs RAM - S-ATA HDD, connected with "SATA1" on the mainboard (SATA1 is set to "AHCI" in BIOS) - S-ATA DVD, connected with "SATA0" on the mainboard (I can't change the setting for SATA0 in BIOS, but I tested installation without the DVD drive - it gaves the same error) - Using Intel Graphics Adaptor I updated the BIOS with the modified one. I tried different bios versions: 5.17 mod, 5.32 mod, 5.37 mod and the Original/unmodded BIOS 5.39. Nothing worked. I have two PCs here, both have exactly the same specifications. I tried this in both. Nothing. With iDeneb 1.3 (10.5.5) it works, but I prefer a retail installation. Does anyone have an idea? |
