AlainTox714
UPDATE: v7 is the final 10.4.9 release as everything now is perfect. REMOVE the old HDAEnabler.kext and use the new one. EDITED: Check if you are using another AUDIO injector like EFI strings or ALCinject and remove it otherwise it will not works. The new HDAEnabler report in startup log: localhost kernel[0]: HDAEnabler: Copyright © 2008 by Kabyl localhost kernel[0]: HDAEnabler: Added SPAudio support LayoutID:4 the old ones: localhost kernel[0]: HDAEnabler: Copyright © 2008 by Kabyl localhost kernel[0]: HDAEnabler: 05/05/2008 Added SPAudio support:Taruga I did this little hack (sorry Taruga) to avoid missmatching errors between HDAEnabler.kext and AppleHDA.kext which don't use the same layoutID, 4 in this case. Now when you boot your system in mode verbose, you will see the used layoutID. Obviously it is also writen in system log. v7 release Outputs : Line Out Rear Orange Jack, Headphones Rear and Front Green Jack, Digital Out* Rear Grey Jack. Inputs : Microphone Rear Pink Jack, Line In Rear Blue Jack. * Digital Out tested by mls64. Mute functionality working. System Profiler Audio report is correct. Audio System preferences selection is correct. v7 release works correctly with vanilla Localizable.strings in all languages. If you like to have the Jack colors of the different items in Output and Input, just replace AppleHDA.kext/Contents/Resources/English.lproj/Localizable.strings with the include Localizable.strings file in the Localizable-Color folder. Obviously this is only true for English language. For other languages just following the example provided in Localizable-Color folder, adapt your corresponding AppleHDA.kext/Contents/Resources/ "Your Language.lproj" /Localizable.strings file to get similar informations or whatever you wants. STAC9274D.v7.zipSTAC9271D.v7.zip Enjoy! UPDATE: v6 release v6 release will bring to you a correct report in Audio System Profiler. An enhanced Sound System Preferences display. Use the same HDAEnabler than v5 Outputs : Line Out Rear Orange Jack, Headphones Rear and Front Green Jack, Digital Out*. Inputs : Microphone Rear Pink Jack, Line In Rear Blue Jack. Mute functionality working. System Profiler Audio report * Digital Out tested by mls64. kext REMOVED Enjoy. UPDATE: v5 release Hi Guys, Sorry i found a typo in AppleHDA.kext info.plist So here is the corrected v5 UPDATE: Fully working v4 release This release is the closet to real Mac as you have Mic And Line Input at Rear and Heaphones at both Front and Rear Edited Use v5 it's buggy UPDATE Version v3 final is out. Outputs : Headphones, Speakers, Digital Out* Inputs : Microphone, Line In Mute functionality working. * Digital Out not tested as i can't. kext REMOVED Enjoy. http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...=20#entry928963 UPDATE Version 2 is available: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?s=&...st&p=927436 For Intel BadAxe 2 mobo Thanks Taruga, you show me the way. Please to report quite full success with Codec STAC9274D close to full working: Selection between four Outputs enabled and working, Microphone is working, Mute button is working, SPDIF OUT is lighted and not tested. If Someone like to try see files attached Theses files works together you MUST use at the same time: AppleHDA.kext HDAEnabler.kext Another HDAEnabler WONT works. AppleHDA.kext is version 1.2.4a21 the same you get with Taruga patcher and should not works in another place than S/L/E. kext REMOVED Next step for me will be to patch the latest AppleHDA.kext 10.5.5, as i have understood how STA9274D Codec works. justvisiting
wow, cool. can't wait to leave work (as always of course) and test. did you use madtux' method of patching ? i was working on this but getting further away from a working system. ok, i broke my system
justvisiting
finally, mic in shows up. can't test as I don't have mic headphones work fine. For my computer case, the rear headphone jack work perfectly, the front jack i have to "1/2" plug the headphones in. I suspect its a problem with my physical case. great job! I had to remove my EFI string and go with HDAEnabler , another challenge Thanks.

I had to remove my EFI string and go with HDAEnabler , another challenge Thanks. @justvisiting did you use madtux' method of patching ? no madtux use 10.5.4 AppleHDA.kext i already use 10.4.9 as do Taruga. Next step are: 1) to patch 10.5.5 kext 2) to use LegacyAppleHDAPlatformDriver.kext I use the hard way doing thing manually has i really want to understand how the codec works. At this time for me only the rear left part is not fully working: - Surround Left and Right Retasking Jack (Black) - Center channel and LFE (Subwoofer)/Retasking Jack (Orange) - S/PDIF Digital Audio Out Optical (Grey) S/PDIF Digital Audio Out Optical is lighted but i haven't test it. Surround Outputs (5.1) are part of DSP signal processing include in the codec, this really need for me a very difficult hacking to get it works. Should work with EFI strings but you have to setup the LayoutID to 4 in EFI string.

Maconvert
Hi Guys, I've been out of the loop for a while. Does this mean we now have a fully working solution for the Bad Axe 2 where "everything" works up to and including the latest update of Leopard? If so, is anybody working on a tutorial? I'm going to finally (I've been SO busy for the last year) sit down and convert my PC to a Mac. I've even bought a removable SATA hard drive tray and a new hard drive JUST for this purpose. Anyway, I'm looking forward to it and I want to thank everyone for all of the hard work you've done on this. I just hope I can repay the favour someday. Cheers! Works perfectly with Leopard 10.5.4 only if you swap the original AppleHDA.kext with this one, don't forget to add the provided HDAEnabler. Not tested in Leopard 10.5.5 should works. Ziggar
Ah guess that's why , figured the mic jack in the back would work , didn't connect the front panel to the board cause would mess my wiring plans at the time . Thanks , time to change some stuff When i route Internal Microphone to rear Pink Jack, even if it show up in Sound pref and is selectable it doesn' work, no signal. Original Mac have a Microphone/Line Input at back which detects automaticly what is connected. So I have to choise between a Line Input or a Back Microphone which did not works. Hi all, I haven't been very active on the forums for about a year or so because my BA2 systems have been working just fine for awhile now. The only thing I've lacked to give it a "perfect" rating was the mic in. This is a great fine and I appreciate those who continued to work on this after I'd long given up. It's kind of funny that now after I finally got the last piece of the puzzle, I've just decided to build a new Efi-X system to play around with that for awhile (finally decided to move from my Intel MBs to the Gigabyte MBs). bigcletus
AlainTox714, Excellent work you have done! Thank you very much for providing your work. Everything is working 100% now on my system! And I almost bought a usb audio bigvalboa - My mute is working perfectly. Edit: i spoke too soon about the mute. It seemed to be working previously with the v1 release of these kexts. The newest one that enables the rear input doesn't mute properly. Not a big deal for me as long as I have the input functionality.

Not a big deal for me as long as I have the input functionality. @bigvalboa @bigcletus I test, both of you are right v2 broke the the mute functionality, i will try to fix it.
