Well, a couple months ago I had installed osx86 and found the perfect kext for my audio. I have a intel D945GCZ board.
The Kext was on a forum post here, now I can't find that post anywhere. I have tried appleHDA by Taragu. i have a sigmatel sound card. here is the driver for windows .. http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Des...al&lang=eng Anyone know a kext for my board? please help me.. I need audio! |

What Sigmatel card do you have? I had issues with getting my Sigmatel 9228 working and I ended up having to do a codec dump on my laptop with a Knoppix live CD. You will probably have the best luck burning a Knoppix Live CD and doing your own codec dump to a flash drive.
The command is: cat /proc/asound/card0/codec#0 > /media/sdb/codec.txt You might need to try other numbers after the #, I know I had to use codec#1. Here's a link to my codec dump for a Sigmatel 9228: http://www.benganzel.com/Uploads/Ganz_Sigmatel_9228_dump.txt You might also need to use v. 1.16 of the Taruga HDA Patcher http://www.benganzel.com/Uploads/AppleHDAP...er_v1[1].16.zip I know that I could not get the sound to work with any of the other patchers. Good luck! |

jslugger94, I have the exact same board that you do, the D945GCZ, and I haven't been able to get my sound fully working either. I know one thing for sure though. You have the wrong linux codec, which is why your codec dump didn't work. If you go to:
http://download.intel.com/support/motherbo.../d1406801us.pdf and scroll down to page 11 you will see that the board uses either the Sigmatel 9223 or Sigmatel 9220 codec, depending on if you have 7.1 or 5.1 surround sound (mine personally is 7.1). Not the Sigmatel 9221 codec that you used. If you are able to find the correct linux codec and then do a dump that file should then be usable with the AppleHDA. If you are able to get a successful dump I would greatly appreciate it if you posted it here so I can use it. I haven't been able to get linux set up on my computer so I can do my own codec dump. |
