Here is something odd.
1.1b1 works fine on my P4 Hack with the Audigy to play iTunes downloads, DVDs, BBC iPlayer TV programs, etc. BUT it will NOT play streamed internet radio—all I get is a birdsong twitter!
Very weird.

There should be added to the problem list the sound quality being bad -- leans towards all highs...

Yeah I get the kernal panics.

Sound quality is very poor, too much bass, high trebles, no middle range.

Hi, in my P4 10.4.11 Hack with v1.1b1 I got random kernel panics when using itunes. I also got some weird random bird sound that I can't imagine where it was coming from.

Switched to v1.1b0 to see if it runs better. Besides that it sounds great!

thanks again.

A small guess of the situation...

For Eugene, the high priority was distortion and he tried to fix Audigy (which worked in 1.1b0 but didn't for Live) when he tried to fix Live (10k1) distortion, it messed up Audigy fix (probably a universal solution that did not work for Live nor Audigy). Now, after some feedback from Live! users, the next fix is expected to be another test build (which ?may? fix both). To some point is appears that maintaining a singular driver for all 10k1 and k2 is getting difficult (since its a new platform and both probably requires some unique individual settings)...

If you look at nVidia, they created nv40 then nv50 etc (although main drivers were distributed in single installer package). Over here, there is no individual engine (10k1 and 10k2) only one engine for both hardware smile.gif Trying to make both work with one engine is a hard work (to make it successful) or an easy way out...

I can be crazy ofcourse.... biggrin.gif

Yes, 1.1b1 causes KPs and bird twitter with internet radio with my P4 hack and Audigy. 1.1b0 does not and no bird twitter either.

Since I challenged the driver 1.1b I practically turns off most Mac and stays on (fans etc but with a black screen) the first thing I did not. Is there any remedy?

Hi Eugene,

Thank you for the awesome work! (never believed that I will use soundblaster on osx)
I have a SB Live 10k1 CT 4832 b800 and it works well for a few minutes then it starts to distort for a while (like loosing power or something like that). after that it comes back to normal sound then, again, behaves like loosing power for a while and so on in some kind of cycle.
I attached the output of console (picture 5)

Regards.

OK, see my signature below? Download 1.0b3 (or 1.1b0 which is stable in your case, the great Live series). This does not mean that distortion will go away, it only means you will not get Kernel Panics while unloading and reloading smile.gif On the other hand, if you can wait for next release, better. (lol living with kernel panics don't make sense thats all wacko.gif )

The driver works OOTB, no hissing sound, no distortion even after hours of playing and all channels are assigned correctly.

But there are still a few issues here:
- No bass output at all, even when playing DVDs. Subwoofer works in Audio MIDI Setup, though.
- Single channel volume in Audio MIDI Setup resets always to full volume. That's not so good for me, because I have a 5.1 speaker set without master volume and I have to set the master volume in OSX to a very low level.

My soundcard is a Audigy 2 (SB0240 10k2 A000).

Yay! I've been waiting for 2 years for this driver, and almost bought a new sound card. I'm using 1.1b1 with no problems at all! Thanks.

I used the KX drivers from the early versions, I started with the EMUHACK.
I use the kx in a SBLive! two live! connected internally (4-bone) in an Audigy 2, in an Audigy 2 and two lives!.
Spend time learning the use of DSP and all possibilities.
Eugene Gavrilov is a kind of hero to me.

After upgrading to 10.5.5 I have many kernel panic apparently without reason, but if I turn off the driver 1.1b1 the system is stable: why?
