Hi all translators,You can help us to translate the Chameleon Project.You need to have gettext utilities installed.You can install them :* With MacPorts or Finkor* With the package http://dl.dropbox.com/u/112112/Chameleon.Dev/gettext-0.18.1.1.dmgYou need to change your ~/.bashrc or ~/.bash_profile to add the path to the utilities:# MacPorts Installer: adding an appropriate PATH variable for use with MacPorts.export PATH=/opt/local/bin:/opt/local/sbin:$PATH# Finished adapting your PATH environment variable for use with MacPorts.# MacPorts Installer: adding an appropriate MANPATH variable for use with MacPorts.export MANPATH=/opt/local/share/man:$MANPATH# Finished adapting your MANPATH environment variable for use with MacPorts.You must also have a PO editor like Poedit: http://www.poedit.net/download.phpThe files to translate are in package/po directory. Open them with your PO editor and translate <img src='http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//biggrin.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' />.If you want to add a new language copy the package/po/chameleon.pot to po/$lang.po where $lang isthe new language you want to add. Example to add belgian language:# cp package/po/chameleon.pot package/po/be.poNow you can start translating the new po file with your PO editor

Pls translate/complete it.

"name" not a kext
"Kernel-__SYMTAB" not a kext

how to delete these messages, create by "Add the symtab to the memory-map." /i386/libsaio/load.c

static long DecodeSymbolTable (long cmdBase)

AllocateMemoryRange ("Kernel -__ symtab" gSymbolTableAddr, gSymbolTableSize, -1);

when the kernel at boot kicks in

ntfs_fixup: magic does not match! = 454c4946

Why this error every boot "ntfs_fixup: magic does not match! = 454c4946"

which here comes from a windows 8.1 partition

Can boot El Capitan now! (credits to Piker Alpha). See the related Topic.

My keyboard does not work anymore in Chameleon's boot selector (neither in the GUI nor in the text based interface). It used to work, it stopped with one of the later Chameleon installs (but unfortunately I do not know which one, using 2716 now). The first keypress is recognised (and the count down timer I have set stops). Keys pressed after that are not recognised.

I can boot my system by waiting out the time-out (not pressing any keys) but I can not boot from any partition other than the default now. I really hope someone here has any idea for a fix. It doesn't seem a common problem (no hits searching for a solution).

I'm using Chameleon on an original 2006 macpro1,1 with 32GB RAM and an Apple ATI 5780 videocard.

Not that you cannot do that, but you have seen this:

Do not install to an Apple Macintosh computer

in the first page showned by the package?

anyway inside the backup folder made by the package you can find the last boot file used. This only if the target partition was the same as before, otherwise the boot file must be already there (the old one). ie if replaced is inside the backup folder, otherwise is in one of the partition you have.

I can take a look on it to determine the revision that was working for you, and you can post it in the relative Topic (see the first page for the link).

Thanks for the tips Micky1979. I do however need to run Chameleon on my Mac because due to my Mac's 32 bit EFI it won't boot into Mac OS X 10.8 and later without it.

Of the boot files I have had installed r2578 has a working keyboard (but non working GUI). The next version I have had installed was r2588 where the keyboard does not work in the boot selector. By the way, r2716 does have a working GUI but non-working keyboard in the bootselector.

I'll try to find the relative topic link you mentioned.

There are much better ways of running newer OSX version on the Mac Pro 1,1 like the boot.efi replacement. Works perfect even for 10.11.

Hi I am trying to boot El Capitan with Chameleon and I am getting an automatic reboot on Latitude E7440 and using the vanilla kernel. Any reason !

I tried with the bios is RAID or AHCI and Virtualization OFF and ON

Enoch will only work with AHCI and Virtualization OFF but I still get instant reboot after loading some kexts.

Thanks

Where can I find binaries?

Sir you reported both Chameleon and Enoch as broken, but you know that those downloads are not broken?

The installer installs the bootloader just fine, and binaries are also copied in "/usr/standalone/i386/"

I compiled the three stages. I needed them in binaries before installing them. In practice I dded them. I reported the two bootloader as broken because there isn't a "Binaries format (Manual install)", but there is only the pkg.

P.S.

I didn't try Enoch.

Great news !! nice to hear that the heart operation has succeeded. I will test Chameleon immediately on my amd hackintosh test and will report here.

Edit:

As expected, Chameleon ( 2.4 svn r2877 ) boots just well as Enoch  :thumbsup_anim:  :thumbsup_anim:
