About This File

Hi :)

Here is the QE_CI Exotic patch for Mountain Lion 10.8.4 and HD 48xx series cards

Just enjoy ;)

Edit: @all those who have installed 10.8.4 delta or combo, please use QE_CI Exotic patch Mountain Lion 10.8.4.zip

Edit 2: After some bad feedback, I was forced to do a new ML GM proper install. I updated it with the last 10.8.4 Combo update, then used QE_CI Exotic patch Mountain Lion 10.8.4.zip (kexts from Delta) and as you can see, QE/CI is OK!!!

The kexts from Delta and Combo are the same!!!

Edit 3: To avoid confusion and taking the bad kexts, I deleted the kexts from all the beta builds, leaving only the kexts from the final release.

Based on netkas' work

I have no idea, really sorry :(

the kexts should work fine, it always worked fine here (hd4830), I even did a clean install to be sure. :(

p.s:

- you don't use dsdt?

- I have a doubt about of darkwake=0 (auto sleep) working on ML, try to use darkwake=no

what's your motherboard?

the thing with personalities, it's for ATIConnectors (DVI ,VGA or HDMI), but it never allowed me to have QE/CI

the hd48xx series cards need another way to have QE/CI. ;)

Also i use a dvi to vga adapter, could this be the problem?

//edit

I finally got it to work by switching dvi ports after boot,it was a weird resolution problem u guess.

Thank you for your drivers :):D

hi QuasaR78

if you can, just do a proper 10.8 install, then update it to 10.8.4, and after that use the final kexts. ;)

p.s: to avoid confusion and taking the bad kexts, I deleted the kexts from all the beta builds, leaving only the kexts from the final release.

good luck ;)

Ok, I'll try this then.

What would be better, to install the ComboUpdate from the downloaded .dmg file or from the AppStore ?

Hello,

I have a mac pro 3,1 which i put a pc ATI Radeon HD 4890 in a few years ago. I used an app called Zeus to patch it for OSX 10.7 and it worked fine. I now am attempting to do a fresh install of 10.8.4 on a new drive, i used this patch, installed with kext drop and it is has got me running. I had a few issues to start, but In the end dumping the Pram and doing permitions repair got the exceleration working (launchpad, safari, notification centre all smooth etc)

thankyou very much!

Having problems getting it to work on dual monitors.  When booting up  both monitors come on, but when i get the sign on screen one of the monitors goes off.

HD4850 card, LG monitors.

Any tricks to getting dual displays?
